Seriously? $8.00 for this?

Not worth the money, whatsoever. I don't care if it's travel friendly, or if the bottle is cute. The product smells awfully strong, I had a migraine for a week, and I wasted $8.00 on 1.5 oz. of lotion when I could probably go to the dollar store and get two bottles of a product better than EOS Everyday Hand Lotion.

Use

Now, I purchased this product at my local Target where I paid $8.00 flat. Here it is $7.99, so not much of a difference. Anyhow, this product was a let down... To sum it up, it wasn't good enough to be worth $8.00 - especially since you only get 1.5 freaking ounces. That is just totally outrageous. I'm not sure why I gave in to buy it. I'm sure it had something to do with all my friends who absolutely love this line of products. Nonetheless, I regret wasting my money.

Ingredients: Water (Eau), Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Cocoglycerides, Glyceryl Stearate, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Avena Sativa (Oat) Meal Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Fragrance (Parfum), Carbomer, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, DMDM Hydantoin, Sodium Hydroxide

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

It is very, very thick and smooth as can be. Reminds me of your average amazing cream. It isn't oily or greasy, but does moisturize well. Well, I should say that after about 10 minutes it isn't oily or greasy. If you touch something right away after use it may be ruined. That's like any other lotion, though.

Taste / Aroma

If you've ever been to Bath & Body Works, you know what Cucumber Melon smells like. If not, I suggest you go there and see what it smells like. Most products labeled Cucumber Melon smell exactly the same. It is a very popular scent, and happens to be one of my most favorites. I can't complain about the scent, as far as what the scent is. However, it is seriously strong. I got a headache after using only dime sized amount. I was very surprised by this.

My husband complained for an entire hour asking me to wash it off of my hands. He is super-sensitive to smells so I have to be careful with everything I buy. Poor thing had to literally sleep in the living room for an hour as it wore off my hands.

I am also sensitive to smells, and I get migraines about an hour after using a product if it is too strong. My migraine lasted an entire week... I even had to go to the doctors! The migraine came on instantly after dispensing the product. I made the mistake of thinking "The lotion didn't cause it" and used the product again to find the migraine returned!

Performance

This product performs well. I wont complain about that. It does what it is meant to do - moisturize. If you're not super sensitive to smell and you have loads of cash to waste, you'll love this stuff. I did have to wash it off because it was too strong, and I only use a very, very tiny amount now that I know that. But even that small amount does the job. I wouldn't say the benefits are out of the world in any way though.

It does wash off extremely easily... Almost too easily, especially for the price. I have cheaper lotions that take longer to wash off.

Packaging

The small bottle (I am supposing it is this small to fit into a purse, pocket, or to be travel-friendly) can fit really anywhere. It's easy to squeeze, and you simply pop the top to open it. However, don't pop too hard or you'll break the cap off! I accidentally broke mine (my bad) and I was very upset. I have bad habit of doing this with plenty of products.

There are ingredients and other info on a peel-back label that is on the back of the bottle itself. The label also explains that it is 97% natural and paraben-free. These are good things to know, but I'd like to know why this product is so damn expensive when you only get 1.5 oz!

Special Features

- 97% Natural (What happened to the other 3%?)

- Paraben-free

Personal comments

I seriously want to make note that the fragrance is ridiculously strong on this product. Many people shrug these notes off... I'll admit, even I do sometimes. But if you are sensitive to fragrances or get migraines easily, avoid this lotion altogether or try the unscented version. My migraine was triggered and took a week to kill. No joke. I had to go to the doctors simply because of this product.

Experience

Obviously not a good experience. Really feeling stupid for wasting my cash, and wondering what my friends were so excited about this product for. The scent is awful, it works about just as well as any other lotion (if not worse in some ways) and is way too damn expensive and there's no way around that. Nothing that comes in a 1.5 oz. bottle should cost $8.00.
Follow-up commentary
There is no way I am ever buying this lotion again. I don't need anymore migraines, and I don't need to waste cash. Heck, even if this product was free I would still pass it up.
