Exotic massage oil - oil discontinued by Shunga Erotic Art - review by pootpootpoot

Shunga's Exotic Massage Oil is meant to add lubrication to a standard massage. It is meant to be used externally, and should not be ingested nor used on female genitalia (as it could upset your pH balance). It can also be used as a lubricant for sexual activity not involving the vagina, such as handjobs or mammary intercourse.

This product is appropriate for beginners and more experienced masseuses alike, as it is a simple product with no learning curve. You can use it either as-is, or warmed to just above skin temperature. I would not recommend using this product in the bath or shower, as running water will remove it from the skin and it could possibly slick up your tub, creating a safety hazard.

The viscosity of this massage oil is comparable to warm maple syrup - a bit thicker than water, but still quite runny. It also has a velvety feeling to it, which it maintains even if warmed (though it will become slightly thinner and runnier).

It is very easy to pour, and does not feel sticky or tacky as it begins to dry. Be careful when handling the bottle after having touched the oil, as it has no grips and very little texture to its plastic, and is easy to drop. If dispensed in moderation it will not run off the body of the person receiving the massage, but if too much is poured out you might have a problem. As the oil can discolor some fabrics, its a good idea to move away anything delicate or set some towels around your partner before beginning.

"Floral" isn't the most specific scent label, but having smelled the oil I can say it's incredibly accurate! I can't place the scent to any specific flower; it seems to be a mix, like you're smelling an entire garden rather than a single bloom or a carefully arranged bouquet.

This is definitely one of the least feminine floral scents I've encountered, but it is still a bit girly and might not appeal to everyone. It is pretty strong, and will linger on the skin after being rubbed in for over an hour.

I found that a quarter-sized dollop of oil was appropriate for a shoulder/upper back massage, and adjusted the amount used for other body parts accordingly. It takes a good deal of rubbing to absorb fully into the skin, so you shouldn't have to reapply very often.

I really liked that it was so thick - it makes a huge difference going from massaging with lotion to this massage oil. You also get a great volume for the price, and since its so long-lasting it should last you a long time!

The bottle is not as sturdy as I had expected, but the flexibility of the plastic makes squeezing out the oil that much easier, so it's a fair trade. It fit well in my hand, and was even a little smaller, so it should be a good fit for those with smaller, more feminine hands as well (I have monster fingers).

The styling of the bottle is really nice, and looks classy and clean. It is slightly indiscreet, as the front of the bottle is printed with "erotic" and "libido" as well as an Asian couple having sex (bare buttocks are visible), but it should pass anything but a close inspection with no problems as the print is rather small.
