Great for painfree sex positions

The ramp is great as an aid to sexual positions. It has helped to lower back pain for my husband and just make me very comfortable and happy. It lines our bodies up perfectly and allows for comfortable, long lovemaking sessions. It's large and pricey and a lint magnet, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Use

The ramp is one of Liberators positional shapes to aid with sexual positions. It is commonly used with the wedge, but can be used all by itself. I cannot say enough good things about Liberator products. My husband struggles with back pain from time to time, and we were looking for pillows or furniture that would help alleviate pain during sex. I first heard of them 4 or 5 years ago. They looked interesting, but I couldn't justify the cost. In the meantime, we got older and my husbands back pain was not going anywhere. Finally, I took the plunge. I bought a ramp and wedge, and we were officially hooked. In fact, we quickly purchased enough to open our own showroom. These have been fantastic for us. I cannot believe the difference they have made for us. Not only have they been good for the pain, but they have allowed us to experiment with new (and old) positions. We feel like we are in our twenties again.

Liberator sells the ramps in the standard size that Eden carries, but also in a plus size version that is wider. Our first ramp was the plus size. I like it, but it can't be straddled. That limits some position possibilities. I purchased the standard size from Eden to give us more options.

We have used the ramp for various positions including doggy, missionary, cowgirl, reverse cowgirl, and oral. It's really helpful in creating angles that line our bodies up perfectly. It helps to keep our bodies comfortable and relaxed so we can just concentrate on each other.

Eden carries these in blue, black, and purple. I have the black one. I figured it would blend in with anything.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material

This is a large shape. Everyone knows what a ramp looks like so picture that. This ramp can actually be flipped 2 different ways and each is slightly different. The first way has a length of 33 inches, height of 11 inches, and the slope is 34.5 inches. Flipped over, the length is 34 inches, the height is still 11 inches, and the slope is 32.5 inches. You might not think that makes much difference, and for most positions it doesn't. However for doggy the smaller slope lines us up much better. We don't pay attention to how it is flipped for any position except doggy. Either way you flip it, the width is 23 inches. The product page lists it at 24 inches. Mine is 23 and I am thrilled. I am short and straddling 24 inches is about the max I can do. Having it one inch less is very nice for me. I doubt taller people would notice any difference though.

Liberator pieces have three parts. The core is a polyurethane foam that gives the ramp it's shape. It is very sturdy and crush resistant. Pillows tend to be soft and cushiony. The ramp is firm to give lots of support. The foam is protected by two covers. Directly on top of the foam is a zippered nylon waterproof cover. This protects the core from any fluids or messes. On top of this layer is the microfiber plush cover. This material is ultra soft. I love running my hands across it. It is soft and always inviting. The zippers on both of the covers are heavy duty. This ramp is new, but I have had pieces for over a year and have never had an issue with zippers or any other design flaw.

What's great about this material is that it doesn't slip and slide. The ramp will stay wherever you place it. If you use pillows or bunched up blankets they tend to fall down or move as you do. The ramp will stay in place. The large size helps it to stay put, but also the material itself tends to adhere to the sheets or floor or wherever you placed it. If you combine it with a wedge, the materials will also stick together. The downside to this is if you need to adjust it after you have started, you really need to get off of it to move it. You want to make sure it's exactly where you want it before you start.

Performance

I talked earlier about how this (and other Lib products) have been good for my husband's back pain. Sometimes he is fine, and we have sex any way we want. Sometimes he is a bit sore, and we use the ramp in ways to make him comfortable. For him that means having his back on a flat surface. Here are a few basic things we do with the ramp when his back is acting up. Reclining on the ramp for either cowgirl/reverse cowgirl or oral works well. He also can place it so he is leaning against the short side, but not on it at all. That provides nice lumbar support for him. We also like to put in up on its end so it is very tall. We usually have it on bench that is backed up to a wall. Reclining against the slope in cowgirl or reverse is comfortable for him. We usually reserve doggy for when he is feeling stronger. Although there are some ways painfree doggy is possible, but we use other Lib pieces not the ramp.

As for me, I love how the ramp feels. It always provides just the right angle for easy access. It feels sensuous and is very comfortable. My favorite ways to use it is for cunnilingus or doggy. It's great for lying back while receiving oral although I usually add the wedge for head support. Doggy is great because I don't have to support myself. I can lean over it and relax. I can hang onto it if I want. The ramp never goes anywhere even when things get vigorus.

The ramp holds it shape well. Actually this one is new, but all my other products have held their shapes well. I know this will be the same. My husband and I have a combined body weight of about 380. We have never had a problem with them loosing their shape. They hold both of us up well.

Packaging

The ramp arrived in a very large box wrapped in plastic. The box was bulky, but not very heavy. Once out of the plastic, it was ready for action. It didn't come with any instructions. I have a book from another purchase that shows different position possilbilites with the ramp as well as other Liberator products, but this wasn't included with this purchase.

Liberator sells gear bags designed to hold these, but it wasn't included in my purchase, and Eden doesn't carry them at all. They might be nice for storage. It would at least be great for keeping the lint under control. I don't have one. We use it to often to bother with it.

The size is less than ideal for travel. We take smaller pieces like the wedge when we go on vacation and leave the huge pieces at home.

Care and Maintenance

The ramp is very easy to care for. The dense polyurethane foam that gives the ramp its shape is protected by two covers. Directly on top of the foam is the black nylon waterproof cover. If anything should seep through the top cover, this will catch it. The nylon can be wiped down if needed. On top of this is the microfiber cover. It conveniently unzips and can be thrown in the wash. I wash it in cold water with my towels and then throw it all in the dryer. It's very user friendly. The cover zips back on the ramp and is ready for more action. It is also easy to wipe up any stray stains with a wet wipe or just a bit of dish soap in between regular washes.

The ramp does like to collect lint and cat fur so a lint brush would be handy. We thought our cat might think these were her personal playground equipment. But thankfully she ignores them. She keeps off of them and doesn't use them to scratch. Of course, your pet might not be so thoughtful.

Storage can be a problem. This is a large piece of furniture. We keep ours behind a dresser that is pulled out from the wall. (We have a wall that slants so the dresser can't be flush against the wall anyway.) A closet would be a good place or under the bed if the bed is high enough.
    • Difficult to store
    • Easy to clean

Personal comments

Obviously, I love my ramp and other liberator pieces. Storage and price are a big issue for people considering these. They are pricey, but they have been worth every penny for my husband and I. I know we are getting old, but getting it on in complete comfort is a big goal these days. Liberator has helped us to reach that goal. So yes, we are happy to pay for them. Ok, maybe not exactly happy, but certainly willing to pay for them.

Storage can be a problem. They are large and not exactly discreet. We don't have tons of storage space, but we have found places for all of them. Where there is a will, there's a way. Most of ours are behind the dresser that is pulled out from the wall. They are not visible from the doorway, but can be seen from within the room. We just decided great sex was worth a bit of clutter in the corner.
Follow-up commentary
Liberator makes awesome products. Our ramp still gets lots of use. It helps us to maintain comfort in lots of different positions. That's very important when dealing with sore backs and aging bodies. It's definitely a 5 star product for us.

It's nice that it's 23" for you instead of the 24" that the product page claims. Great review!
