Do you hate it when you have to sleep in the wet spot? Of course you do! What's worse than following up an evening of exciting sex with a restless night of uncomfortable wetness? Changing the sheets isn't very fun and towels somehow always manage to be in the wrong spot. Luckily the people who make the Liberator shapes came up with the Fascinator Throe.

What is it? Well, it's a thin yet absorbent blanket meant to absorb any liquids before they can splash onto your sheets. It's about the right size for a queen-sized bed, which makes it the perfect size for your sexual playground. It has two sides, one a smooth satin and the other a fuzzy microfiber. In between is a waterproof barrier which will prevent any possibility of wet spots on your bed!

The quality of the Throe is top-notch, just like any other Liberator product. (Of course, at this price it had better be!) The materials are great and the craftsmanship is excellent. The three layers of material (the satin side, the fluid barrier, and the microfiber side) are well stitched together at the edges with reinforced seams which seem unlikely to unravel. Note that the three layers are attached only at the edges; there is no quilting to mar either side so you will have a flat, uninterrupted surface for your enjoyment.

The satin side is smooth, slippery, and cool to the touch. It's a nice choice on a hot day or if you want to be able to slide around easily. Also, when this side is up, the microfiber side is down, which helps to anchor it to your bed. If you are using the Throe on top of your Liberator Shapes (which can make cleanup easier, as the Throe is easier to wash!) then the microfiber side will grip the shapes tightly and not slide around at all.

The nylon microfiber side is soft and warm, with a pleasantly fuzzy texture. You'll want to use this side on a cold winter night. Also, with the microfiber side up you can place your Liberator shapes on top and they will stay exactly where you put them, thanks to the way microfiber sticks to other microfiber surfaces, which can be very useful in some circumstances. Note that when this side is on top, the slippery satin side is against your bed, so the whole thing might slide around somewhat if you're engaging in particularly vigorous activity.

The middle layer is a flexible polyester fluid barrier which will protect your sheets no matter which side you have up. It can make some crinkling sounds during sex, which is a bit off-putting, but it's a reasonable tradeoff for dry sheets.

If you're anticipating a lot of liquid, you might be better off with the microfiber side up as it absorbs more and won't become too slippery. For those who squirt when achieving a G-spot orgasm, or who will otherwise anticipate huge amounts of liquid, the shag version of the Throe might be even better, as it can supposedly handle more liquid.

The Fascinator Throe has not let me down yet. It always manages to catch every drop of fluid, preventing any random patches of lube or bodily fluids from landing on my sheets. We've made this a standard part of our routine; it's well worth interrupting our activities for the 30 seconds or so that it takes to spread out the Throe on our bed. When we're done, we just fold it up like any other blanket. If it's seen particularly heavy use, we wash it the next day, but sometimes we can use it several times before washing it.

The packaging is minimal, just a thin plastic box with a cardboard insert. There's no nudity on the cardboard insert, but there is a large photo of a woman in her underwear and some text which makes it pretty clear what it's for, so you might want to dispose of the insert if you're worried about people knowing what your Throe is for. But it makes for an attractive gift just the way it is; it's fairly inoffensive and it does have useful information for the recipient.

The Fascinator Throe is easy to clean; it's machine washable! Just be sure to wash it in cold water and use the low setting on your dryer.

One thing to watch out for is that the lack of quilting can result in one side “swallowing up” the other in the dryer. This can slow down the drying and make it take much longer to dry, so be sure to check on it from time to time and unroll it to make sure it dries evenly.

After it's dry, just fold it up like any other blanket. It's surprisingly thin, which makes it easy to fold.
