Probe Thick and rich - lubricant discontinued by Davryan Laboratories - review by Sweet-n-Playful

Probe Thick and Rich is a lubricant created from just three natural ingredients. It is intended to feel just like a woman's natural vaginal fluid. This product contains no harsh chemicals and it is also pH-balanced. By using products that don't alter your body's pH, you can help prevent bacterial infections. Probe Thick and Rich is made in both the US and Canada and is tested in an independent lab for quality. No animals are used during testing, so this one is vegan-friendly. This lubricant is safe to use orally, vaginally, and anally; it is compatible with all toy materials, as well as condoms. This product line also produces a sister product called Silky Light, which is made to imitate saliva.

According to the company, Probe Thick and Rich is "designed to mimic women's fertile mucous and provide a thick, substantial layer of lubrication between skin surfaces." Well, it may just be me, but I feel the product didn't live up to this claim at all. This product, along with the Silky Light product, are the two stickiest lubes that I have ever encountered. It felt, to me, nothing like my natural body fluids. I have a hard time believing that any other woman's natural lubrication could possibly feel that sticky either. As soon as I attempted to apply this product to my partner, long sticky strings formed between him and the container. I had to use my finger to break the strings apart, which made my fingers stick together.

To be fair, Probe Thick and Rich does have a far better texture if you add water to it. The instructions on the package tell you to add water when you want to "reactivate" it, but I suggest adding water immediately.

I took some pictures below to give you a better idea of what the product is like. The first two shots are without water and the third one is with water added.

I was surprised to see on the product's website that it was labeled for oral use, since there is no added flavor to this product. However, if some does get in your mouth, it's okay because it is practically tasteless and is safe to swallow (I guess that can never be a bad thing). There is no added scent or color to Probe lube either; it comes out clear and odorless.

Sadly, I have no better news on performance than I did with the texture. Not only is this lubricant unhumanly sticky, but it dries really quickly as well. I actually experimented with the Probe Silky Light before this one, and that one dried up in under 60 seconds twice in a row. Disappointed, we went on to try the Thick and Rich product next, thinking that since both "thick" and "rich" are in the name, it's gotta be better than the Silky Light. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Although the Thick and Rich is slightly thicker, it dries up just as quickly. As I said before, once you add water, this lube does perform much better and feel much more natural. Once you're ready to wash it off, being that it's water-based, it will clean up completely with just rinsing.

I reviewed this product in the sample size. I found it generous and easy to open, with .33oz/10mL of product. This will last at least two sessions, possibly more, depending on personal preference regarding how much of it you apply. The sample comes in a pillow pack. The product name is printed on the front and the directions and ingredient list are on the back. This product will come in the orange container, while the Silky Light version will be in green. Both products have the same directions and ingredients.

As I'm sure you've noticed by now, my experience with this product was not a good one. When I buy a lube, the three things I look for are natural ingredients, natural texture, and ability to last. Probe Thick and Rich only meets one of these criteria. I love that there are only three ingredients in theory, but after using it, I was left thinking maybe they need to add a few more ingredients to improve this product. I just can't use something so sticky that dries so fast. This is actually the second brand of natural lube I have tried, the other being Sliquid. In my opinion, Probe doesn't even come close. I recommend getting Sliquid instead.
