The Cleo Massager by ONO Pleasure is a really interesting theory. The shape is definitely something new and different for those who are tired of the same old shapes. I think it’s rather nice to look at. So far, for me, I can’t seem to find a way to make it useful.

The vibrations seem strong in my hand, but they don’t seem to translate when placed on more sensitive areas. To me, the most logical way to use this toy is against your clit. You can use just about any vibrating toy on just about any part of your body, but a toy like this is lacking a hand hold for body massage and has no insertable portion. Logically, clitoral stimulation is what this is meant for.

Clitoral stimulation is what I aimed to use it for. I had images of using the suction cup that comes with it to put it in interesting places in the bath tub and enjoy some hands-free stimulation. I could even see using it with a partner in certain positions.

Unfortunately, once I nestled it up against my clit the first time, I realized with great disappointment that there was no way this toy was ever going to get me off. For a toy with 8 levels of just straight vibration, it has remarkably little power. Actually, there is power, but I think the issue is that it’s not pinpointed anywhere.

I tried it in many different positions and holding it in every way I could possibly think of, but no matter what I did, I could not get off with it.

It could be used for body massage though the wide, round base would not be comfortable to hold for very long. The shape of the protrusion on top might be awkward for a body massage.

That said, there are some nifty things about this toy. If you like less intense vibration, you might really enjoy this toy. I could see if being a good warm up. It is waterproof which is nice. However, there is no O-ring in the battery compartment, so I'd caution anyone using it in water to make sure the cap is screwed on very tight!

The bottom of the toy is just smooth plastic, but it comes with a detachable suction cup that sticks fairly securely to the bottom of the toy and a flat surface. There is a little tab on the suction cup that makes it effortless to remove. Unfortunately, the suction cup can be hard to place on the center of the toy.

The Cleo comes in a simple, black box. I’m honestly not sure if you could pass this off as a body massager. The shape is odd enough that others might not assume it’s a sex toy. I, however, would not call it particularly discreet.

The toy runs on 3 AA batteries and has many different functions. It starts by cycling up through 8 different levels of constant vibration and then goes into different levels of patterns like rollercoaster and intermittent vibration. I was disappointed that, with 8 different levels, there is very little difference between the levels. For me, as far as intensity goes, it may as well have been the standard low, medium, high. One thing I will say for it is that it's pleasantly quiet considering the overall power and functions.

The Cleo is operated with a plus and minus button incorporated in the logo on the side of the toy. Plus turns it on and up, and minus turns it down and off. I disliked having only the two buttons. For all the functions, it was annoying to cycle through that way. It is pretty cool that the toy can be locked so that it cannot be turned on accidentally. This is done by holding down both buttons until the LED indicator light blinks. The same will turn it back on again when you are ready.

The upper part of the Cleo is velvety-textured silicone which can be disinfected and is safe with water-based lubricants. Cleaning this toy is a tad tricky because the base is made of plastic, and the suction cup is made of rubber. Rubber and plastic are porous and not as easy to clean. So far though, I’ve been okay with just warm water and soap or toy cleaning wipes.

I wished the top part of the Cleo had more give. It looks nice and soft, but it turned out to be more rigid than I would have liked. At the end of the day though, I think the Cleo is one of those toys that would be really amazing for the right person. It’s just hard to tell until you get it if you’re going to be that person.

This toy and I just never learned to understand each other. I love the look of it and I maintain that there is still a good idea in there. The vibrations are nowhere near strong enough and the weird shape looks cool but doesn't offer any real advantage. I keep it in the toy drawer but I don't use it much.
