The big end - butt plug discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by ksparkles16

Doc Johnson’s The Big End is a fairly large plug if you haven’t been in your backdoor very often. I’ve played with my rear end for a few months now and this was a challenge for me. A good challenge for sure, but I had to work at it. It’s much bigger than Doc’s Li’l End. There really should be a plug that is halfway in size between the Li’l and Big End. Unfortunately, there isn’t (in the Doc Johnson brand anyway).

I can finally say that the Bid End is suitable for anal play! Most things I review aren’t for anal play, but this is! It has flared base big enough so it won’t get lost.

I would recommend the Bid End for anal intermediate to advanced players. You cannot be a beginner! This thing was much bigger than I expected. However, I’m still glad I got it. It will be a plug that will last me a long time because of its larger size.

I love Doc Johnson’s silicone. It’s soft, comfortable, easy to use, and waterproof. It is totally smooth to the touch with no texture. Silicone is one of the safest materials to play with rating a ten out of ten on Eden Fantasy’s Safety Scale. It is hypoallergenic and non-porous. This means it won’t harbor bacteria. You can even sterilize it if you wish to share The Big End. Simply boil it for a few minutes or place it in the top rack of the dishwasher.

Doc’s silicone is super flexible and plush. It can bend any which way you want.



It has no smell and no seams anywhere. Although there is a little drag to it, be sure to put some lubricant on it before anal play. Unfortunately, silicone tends to attract lint and hair like crazy! However, it doesn’t attract too much hair if you store it in an enclosed bag or case.

The Bid End is design like most basic butt plugs out there. It has a tapered tip for easy insertion and increases as you go down. The neck is slimmer so your butt can grab hold. It has a nice comfortable flared base. Doc Johnson’s name is etched on the base of the toy. The bottom of the flared base is really beautiful; it is a swirl of purple and silver.



As I mentioned before, the Bid End isn’t a small toy. It measures 5 ½” and can be inserted up to 4 ¾”. I love how long it is because you can insert it in and out to get your butt to open up more. It has a circumference of 5 1/2'” and a diameter of 1 ¾”. The neck’s diameter is ¾”. This toy is not for the faint of heart! The size is for intermediate to advanced users. No beginners on this ride.

The Big End is waterproof. It is big for my butt, but in general small if you want to travel with it.

The Big End is a plug that I can’t put in my butt on the first try. I need to warm myself up first. I first use one of my favorite anal toys. This lists includes the Gold Laced G, The Dipper or The Groove. Once I am warmed up, I grab for the Big End.

Even after I’ve warmed up, it takes a little bit of time to get The Big End all the way in. I usually move it in and out letting my butt get used to the bigger size. Don’t be impatient and shove it up there all at once! I did this once and my butt was not happy! It definitely hurt. When I warmed myself up and finally got it in, it wasn’t painful.

This plug is great for short-term wear. I’m talking around the house. I don’t think it would stay in well for a long time. I wore it around the house for a little while and it does stay in for a little bit. It certainly stays in for playtime. Even though it stays in, I recommend you put it in and sit down somewhere. I could normally hold it in for a few minutes, but the urge to ‘poop’ it out was too great. It’s probably just my inexperience with anal toys, but the neck isn’t extremely thin compared to the plug.

I always am in love with Doc’s flared bases. It’s extremely comfortable and big enough so that I’m not in fear. It’s a base that is good to sit on.

Silicone is extremely easy to care for. Since it’s waterproof, you can simply wash it in warm water and soap. If you wish to sterilize it, simply boil it for a few minutes. You can also place it in the dishwasher.

When using lubricant, stick to a water base lube. Don’t use a silicone lubricant as it could ruin the material.

The Big End was placed in a simple plastic package. You can see the toy through the plastic, so it’s not see through. The back of the package lists all of its attributes. There isn’t a ton of information with the toy. I just recycled mine.

I'm rating The Big End fours stars out of five. If I could, I'd give it 4.5 stars. My only issue is that it's a little big for me.
