The big end - butt plug by Doc Johnson - review by ~LaUr3n~

I had to buy this in a hurry since I got an assignment for the Tristan 2 Plug that ended up being much bigger than the on screen "real size" picture. I simply cannot get the Tristan 2 in without getting used to a similar diameter first. None of my plugs came close to that size and/or were good for working up to a toy of that size and shape. I needed reinforcements as soon as possible. I chose the Classic Butt Plug from Doc Johnson because I knew it was a size and shape I had previously been able to get in me, and because Doc Johnson has upgraded their products and made some of them in silicone, this being one of them. The shape and size are for advanced players, but due to the soft silicone it can be worked up to without too much time or effort. Once in, this plug stays put and fills to the perfect degree. The base is a little wide for long term use, but it can be worn while sitting or moving around.

This plug is made of Doc Johnson's new silicone material that they call premium platinum silicone. It is phthalate and latex free, hypo-allergenic, and food grade. This silicone is softer and more bendable than what you might see from say, FunFactory. It has a plush like quality that allows the shape to have a decent amount of give. This can be good and bad for this plug. The silicone is smooth and just the slightest bit sticky. This small amount of stickiness causes hair and dust to cling to it easily. Lubricant is a must for this plug. It has a slight smell, but it is nothing repulsive and goes away with washing. Since it is non-porous and a material that can withstand high temperatures, this can be sterilized by boiling. Using a condom makes for easy clean up though.

The Big End is very similar to their other plug: The Classic. It too has the traditional and elongated spade shape for the body of the plug.

It is 5 1/2" from base to tip, the bulb is 4" long, and about 4 3/4" of the entire length is insertable. The max circumference is at the base of the bulb and is 5 4/4" (1 7/8" in diameter). I love anal play, and do it often, but this size is still something that takes time and patience for me. It also requires warm up or arousal.

The neck is a little less than 1" long and 2 3/4" around (7/8" in diameter). This makes the plug stay put, nice and securely. For a plug this large, it can easily get pushed out if it doesn't taper off in this way.
The base is about 1/2" tall in the center and 1 7/8" x 3". This is a bit large to fit between most cheeks, but the flexible material makes it more comfortable. It does prove to be a good handle too.

This obviously isn't discreet at all. It looks as classic as it possibly could for a butt plug. You'd have to live in a box to not realize what it is. The color helps though, if you get the slate grey like I did. It doesn't draw attention like the shiny purple does. Speaking of, the silicone has a really pretty sheen to it.

It won't melt or anything in a suitcase, but the size and weight are optimal for traveling. It's possible though.



Compared with the Tristan 2 I mentioned earlier

Again, this is not a beginner plug, or even an intermediate plug for most. It takes a lot of lubricant and patience. Make sure to lubricate the toy AND yourself, the outside of the anus and slightly inside if you can help it. If you are doing this solo, I recommend either squatting, sitting on your heels while slightly leaning forward, or laying on your back with your feet in the air. With a partner, laying on your stomach or being in the doggy style position is best. I have not had my partner use this on me yet, but I have had him use similar plugs on me in those positions before.

Because of the gradually increasing circumference, as long as you are consistent and constant with your pressure, this plug should slide in easily. I found that the first half of the bulb went in with one swoop, but then I had to relax and keep the shape at a straight angle in me. This can be hard to do if you are only holding the base since the neck is so flexible. I didn't realize this until I reached around with a second hand and discovered it was angling in me weird. I had to use both hands to push in the rest of the plug. It was a bit of a shock at first. This is the largest plug that has been in me, and even though it is only slightly larger than the classic, the drop from the largest diameter to the neck was a bit extreme since I had not experienced this before. If you can control the plug and prevent it from popping in, you should experience less discomfort and a faster adjustment to the plug inside of you.

For most people, you won't be able to have sex with this plug in. It will take a bit more patience to do so since it will stretch you even more. This plug also has the potential to be used as a vaginal probe, although I didn't use it this way. I have used similar plug shapes that way and found that it could provide g-spot pressure for me since mine is shallow. The best use for this plug is to be worn during oral sex (turn the base sideways, worn before a larger toy or anal sex, or just as intended.

Pulling this plug out was harder to do than put it in for me. It took almost as long and required a lot of patience, relaxation, and a bit of pushing. Squatting it the easiest way to get this toy out if you want the help of gravity. Pushing is easier than pulling. I am pleased to note that this plug did not create a mess, but I haven't had any plug do that. I guess I'm lucky.

This silicone plug can be used with water based lubricants. I suggest using the thickest one you have. I had a hard time keeping lubricant on this in the shower even if I was not under a stream of water. If there is any moisture on the plug at all, lubricant tends to just slide off of it even when it is first smoothed around. To clean it, using a condom makes it easy, however, this can be boiled for 5 minutes to sterilize or thrown on the top rack of dishwasher.

The packaging has gotten a little better. It still comes in a plastic, snap to close, clear case with the mold of the toy sticking out, but they have cut down the amount of plastic used to make this package. The front has decorative swirls and the name of the toy, while the back describes the material and warranty information. It works well for storage.

I am not able to enjoy this plug to the fullest yet, since I only feel comfortable wearing it for short periods of time (10 minutes usually), but it is helping me train my muscles to relax for larger toys and my partner who is a little larger than this circumference.
