The Sasha Grey Signature Swell Wand would be a wonderful addition to anyone’s toy collection. The texture may look “blah” but you won’t be saying that once you start riding these waves.

Sasha Grey is an adult performer known for her anal tutorials and toys, but the Swell Wand is not a good anal safe toy. The bulges are smoothly rounded and it could easily slip inside and no one needs an embarrassing trip to the ER. However, this is a really good insertable glass toy for the ladies. Thrusting it too vigorously can bruise the cervix so be cautious of that.

Temperature play also offers up some really fun possibilities. Chill it in a bowl of ice water or warming it up with warm water is enough to provide thrilling sensations to the nether bits. I would caution against putting it in the freezer though because wet skin can stick to it and tear, and microwaving it can give you burns.

Glass is food-grade material, hypo-allergenic, latex free, non-porous, and phthalates free meaning it is extremely body safe. Pyrex glass (which is what this is made of) is a very strong material that will not shatter on you. It will not break easily unless you throw it down on pavement. It’s good for those who like firm pressure. If you like softer materials, the rigidity of glass could be overwhelming.

The wavy design is completely smooth so even texture sensitive people will find this to be a nice smooth ride. One end is larger than the other, and the heads are nicely pronounced, so those with easy-to-stimulate G-spots will have some luck with this.

You might be able to pass this off as some sort of massage tool, but it’s still rather phallic in nature so some people may be able to figure out what this is used for.

Each piece is individually made so your measurements may differ from mine. It’s 7 ¾” long, and since each end is insertable, you can insert up to whatever you are comfortable with. The small end has a circumference of 4” and the larger end has a circumference of 5”.

Other reviewers have said that the girth is rather thin, but any thicker and it could be very difficult to insert. Size is a matter of personal taste, but this one is likely too large for a beginner, but still not large enough for a size queen. A smaller glass dildo with a similar design is the Dr. Laura Berman Ruby which would be a good starting off point.

After reading so many reviews on this toy I knew I had to have it, and I wasn’t disappointed. I didn’t think I would but I actually prefer the larger end. The smaller end has much gentler bulges but the business end knows just where to reach.

I like shallow thrusting and the Swell Wand has the perfect shape for that. Those who really need a strong curve for their G-spots will not get enough stimulation from this.

The Swell Wand can be hard to grip with lubed hands. You can use silicone or water based lubes with glass. Only a small drop of lube is needed since the surface is so slick.

This toy is really easy to clean because it doesn’t have deep ridges or grooves for fluids to hide in. Simply washing it with water and soap is fine. You can sterilize it with a 10 per cent bleach solution or by boiling it for a couple of minutes. Be sure to let it cool before removing because glass doesn’t like to change temperatures too quickly.

Always check for chips or cracks before using so you don’t get cut.

Overall, the packaging for the Swell Wand is nice. It’s not discreet since it has photos of Sasha Grey, a full-sized image of the toy, and a blurb about the product but it’s tastefully done. There is a foam insert so that it’s protected during shipping. You could also store the toy this way but I find the box to be too bulky so I got a pouch instead.
