USE:

Sasha Grey is a queen of many things, one is arguably anal play. If she has her name on an anal toy, I want it! I expected the Signature Swell Wand to provide me with amazing anal stimulation and g-spot orgasms, but I was left wanting more. It's too big in the wrong areas and too small in others. A good glass dildo nonetheless, I am just unimpressed because it isn't all that unique. I do like that it is safe for anal and vaginal, plus the dark glass color is really interesting and pretty. The shape and size is fine for beginners, even. Glass, by nature, is great for temperature play and this one is great served cold. Vaginally, either end has the potential to provide g-spot stimulation, but didn't really bring me over the edge, perhaps because the diameter is too thin. Anally, the waves are a lot of fun and the larger bulbed end makes it same for deep plunging. If you like the design, there are very similar ones out there that are cheaper. They don't have the cool dark coloring, though!

MATERIAL:

Sasha Grey's Signature Swell Wand is made of Pyrex glass which is a brand of glass that has a borosilicate additive. Borosilicate makes the glass stronger and more resilient to temperature changes, shattering, and breaking in general. In addition to that safety feature, Pyrex glass is completely non-porous, can be sterilized, is hypo-allergenic and doesn't give off any harmful chemicals. If cared for properly, it has the potential to last forever. The surface is smooth, for the most part. For some reason mine has less than smooth spots. It feels like a fine sand paper was brushed against it in certain areas. It doesn't affect the play or comfort, but is noticeable when I feel it with my fingers.

The black glass is stunning. It is completely solid, which I have not often seen in glass toys. It's black, but sometimes I swear it looks like a really deep blue.

DESIGN / SHAPE / SIZE:

Note that there will be a lot of variation from piece to piece. Mine has a lot of irregularities, dimples, flat spots, and different dimensions.

With the exception of the large bulb on the end, I would classify this probe as a medium size. It has a waved shaft for added stimulation. The total length is 7 5/8". The insertable length is a little over 6". Vaginally, you might be able to insert it a bit further. If you count the largest bulb at the end, there are four bulges. The first section is about 2" long and has an imperfection. One side of it is slightly flat. The tip is pretty small and nicely rounded for easy vaginal or anal insertion. It is 1 1/8" in diameter and 3 5/8" in circumference. It doesn't provide much of an anchor at its neck because that area is only slightly smaller at 3" in circumference. For some reason in the product picture, the top looks belt a bit, but on mine it is not.

The second bulge is slightly larger. It is 4" in circumference, 1 1/4" in diameter at the largest part of its bulge. The relaxed area below it has a circumference of 3 1/4". The third bulge is a little larger with a diameter of 1 3/8" and circumference of 4". The bulges increase in thickness by 1/8" with each one. The last relaxation point is a little bigger than the others at 1 1/8". The last bulge which I call the bulb is much larger that it appears in the picture online. In the picture the second bulb looks barely smaller than the end, if at all. Mine is 1 3/4" in diameter and 5 1/4" in circumference. It's hefty and a really good anchor for anal play. If you like larger, hard objects, it can work for g-spot play as well. It's a tad too large for me when used that way.

This glass piece is hefty and weighs about a pound. It's not great for travel due to its weight. It isn't the most obvious sex toy out there and will likely go unnoticed amongst other items as long as it isn't blatantly out in the open.

PERFORMANCE:

This dildo is designed for both vaginal and anal play in mind, but it doesn't work amazingly for both. It's a great choice for beginner vaginal play with glass toys and intermediate for anal. It can provide some g-spot stimulation, but might be too large for some when used with the bulb end first.

For me, I used a small amount of lubricant and slid the smaller end in vaginally. It went in with a cool chill, but I was left wanting more girth. Vaginally, this isn't large enough for me. The waves don't do all that much unless I thrust fast and that is something I try not to do with glass. If I tilt the toy, the end can contact my g-spot and provide mild stimulation. Flipping the toy around, I tried to insert the large bulb for a more intense g-spot sensation. This proved to be too large and hard for me to insert without discomfort. I wasn't able to finish from this toy vaginally without adding a clitoral vibrator.

Anally, it's a lot more stimulating. The wavy shape is a lot of fun whether you slowly plunge it or use faster thrusts. It can be inserted all the way up the bulb. The thickness is good for anal and not at all painful. I didn't even need warm up. Anally, I was able to finish with just the addition of my fingers over my clit. This is even an anal probe that I will allow my partner to use on me. It does help warm me up for anal sex. But, all in all, the results are not that amazing, in my experience. Especially vaginally, I didn't find this probe to be all that stimulating.

CARE & MAINTENANCE:

Glass is very easy to clean and care for if you use common sense. For a quick, simple clean just use hot water and an antibacterial soap or toy spray. For a deep cleaning, put it in the top shelf of your dishwasher or boil it for 5-10 minutes to sterilize it for sharing. It can also be sterilized in a 10% bleach solution. It can be used with any kind of lubricant, but I recommend silicone, especially for anal play. To store, I'd place it back in its protective foam packaging or in a toy pouch to prevent breaking. Always check your glass toys for chips or breaks before use.

PACKAGING:

The Signature Well Wand comes in a packaged very safely in a slim cardboard box. Inside the cardboard box the wand sits snuggly in a foam cutout. A thick foam sheet sits on top to assure a tight fit into the cardboard box preventing the wand from banging around. The box is black with a matte finish and has a stunning picture of a perfectly proportioned Swell Wand on the front, not what you get inside. on the sides are dark, subtle imposed pictures of Sasha. The back has information about the toy and the company.

I would have given this a 4 for simply not being all that stimulating for me, but the bad surface spots and irregularities, flat spots, etc. bump this down to a 3.

Sasha Grey doesn't know how to make my clit swell. This wand did practically nothing for me and stopped my buying of glass toy for awhile because I was so dissapointed with it. I no longer have it because I know it would have collected dust. I also ended up removing quite a few glass toys of similar shapes off of my wishlist because of this experience. It's just not the shape or size for me.
