So here we are again. What are we reviewing this time?

We're checking out the Sasha Grey Signature Swell Wand--which I'm going to call Sasha's Wand from here out. Sasha's Wand is a pure black pyrex glass dildo, made for both vaginal and anal use with men, women, and couples.


It looks a little familiar, it reminds me of this toy I used once and didn't like.

Sasha's Wand is similar to several other toys, most notably the Wave Wand, but it also has similarities to Dr. Laura Berman's Ruby and my beloved Classic Aluminum. Since these toys are all fairly similar, not everyone is going to love it; I don't find that it's textured, really, but, but I do like ribbing on my toys so this shape appeals to me. If you're not a fan of that kind of pattern, you should skip this toy!


I don't know: glass? Is that even safe for my hoo-ha?

Glass is totally safe--because it's made of Pyrex, you know that even the toughest clenches during use won't crack it. Besides, glass has lots of pretty cool features that I bet you'll find endearing. Glass can be totally sanitized, so you can share it with your girlfriend and your other girlfriend without intermingling fluids or worrying about bacteria. Plus, after you've boiled it to keep it clean and let it cool so that it's safe to touch, you can use it warm for some tasty temperature play--you can even put it in the refrigerator or freezer for play on the other end of the spectrum.

Glass is also extremely slick, as you probably know from encounters with glass tabletops, so it doesn't require a lot of lube for easy movement--and you can use any kind of lube you like.


Okay, it's safe for my cha cha and it's safe to use with my other lady friends--but are you sure I can use this anally?

Well, I'd say you can use it anally cautiously. The design of the toy features several swells on it, which culminate in the handle of Sasha's Wand. The largest of these swells is 1 3/8", and the handle is 1 3/4"--which isn't a lot of difference on a toy that's only 8" long. If you're going to use it anally, I'd recommend using it with a partner who can keep a firm grip on the handle--the super slickness I mentioned earlier means that it glides into the anal cavity more easily as well, and the last thing you'd need is that moment of panic when you realize you've lost something and can't get it out.


So what do you do with it?

You can use it to mix a really large cocktail? As a baton to direct a lassiez-faire orchestra? I kid. I prefer to use this vaginally, since I don't find that it's safe enough for me to comfortably use anally. I love the swells on this toy, but it's not a very large toy so it can be a bit unsatisfying if I'm seeking something larger--which just makes this a great warm-up toy. I love glass for its versatility, and I usually keep this in the refrigerator as the drawing patterns with cool glass on warm skin is always fun. I'd recommend it for people who prefer thinner toys, both vaginally and anally, that don't just want a traditional dildo.
