What was your first thought looking at this toy? I'll tell you what mine was: That is totally cute! It's like a lollipop for your bum, and what's not fun about that? Well, there's a thing or two, but for the most part it's golden! A lovely shade of red actually, but... Anyway, on to the review:

California Exotic, maker of all manner of sex toys, has a whole series of "love pacifiers" including two utilizing this design; the beginner and the advanced. Let's start by clearing up that misconception: This is not a particularly advanced toy. At 4-3/4" it is by no means small for newbie rears, but I submit to you this: Once you squeeze those luscious 4-3/4" of silicone past your tight virgin sphincter, you're left with a rather thin stem. While this makes it an excellent and comfortable toy for long-term wear, it's not going to stretch your opening too terribly much, meaning it may not be a good warm-up for game time. If you are new to anal play, I have no doubt that this toy will last you well into your journey, but remember this: Always carefully consider your options and compare measurements before jumping on a plug branded "beginner" or "advanced" just because it's in the name!

As I mentioned, the Love Pacifier is made of 100% silicone, meaning it is easy to clean and care for and won't hold onto odors with regular washings. Water and soap, a light bleach solution, boiling water... You know the drill, right? Great, just remember not to use any silicone-based lubes! Water-based only, please. The texture of the Pacifier is very much smooth, so a little lube will go surprisingly far with this one. Because of its design, expect any extra to run down the stalk and stain your underwear. How do I know? Just trust me. Speaking of...

Underwear; or pants, rather. As previously discussed, the primary allure of this product is comfortable long-term wear, not necessarily warm-up for tonight's anal adventure. Because of this, chances are you're looking through the measurements and thinking "My, that is a rather large handle! I wonder if it will show." Why yes, yes it is, and it just might! It's just under half the total length of the toy, and depending on the size of your cheeks, it may end up sticking out a bit. I'll come out with it: I haven't got the most plump rear end, so I get a centimeter or two of show on this one and a little bulge in my man-panties. Is that a bad thing? No, I don't think so, since it means the handle is easily accessible for removal, and speaking of removal...

While the handle is quite large, it is sturdy, helps keep the toy in place, and makes for very easy removal. You may need to relax a bit more than for most plugs, as the bulb is considerably larger than the stalk, but I've found that you can generally push it out most of the way due to its size, then give it a tug and it'll pop right out. Very safe, very easy, and very fun! Your tush might even make a cute popping noise when it comes loose.

Now I know I said I'd get to some negative points, so here you have it: The construction could be better. For the price, I'm willing to overlook it, but there are just a few small issues. The biggest of the small is the visible seam where the mould was released during manufacturing. It seems to have been trimmed but not filed or sanded, so you will more than likely feel this going in. Once the plug is in, I've honestly never been able to tell, but it was slightly uncomfortable the first few times until I got used to it. Exacerbating this is the firmness of the bulb. This isn't technically a negative, since it's entirely a matter of preference, but be aware that there is virtually no give in the bulb itself. The handle and stalk are plenty flexible, but the bulb feels a lot like the silicone is wrapped around a hard plastic core.

To say, "I don't like it anymore," is a bit of a stretch, but in truth, there are better plugs out there. As I've had the time (and funds) to peruse some of the higher-end offerings in the rump-oriented market, I've begun to better appreciate the value of quality materials and construction. Has the Love Pacifier held up to use and a fair bit of abuse? Yes, and I still highly recommend it to those looking for a cost-effective, ass-pleasing pucker sucker. That said, is it frequently reached for in a basket now teeming with higher-quality plugs? Unfortunately, it just isn't.
