Bandito - strap-on dildo by Fun Factory - review by lilly555

I have wanted the Bandito for what feels like forever, but was probably more like 8 months. The Bandito first caught my eye because I wanted something with not too much texture to see how I felt about it. Long story short it sat on my wishlist, went out of stock, then when Eden hosted the Win Your Wishlist Contest I came to realize the Bandito could not be pinned as one of my top ten. This caused me to panic. What if it was going to be discontinued?! Within an hour of the Bandito coming back in stock last month I purchased it. Mostly because I really wanted it, partly because I feared it might be my last opportunity. Now that I have the Bandito, let’s just say I won’t be turning away from texture anytime soon.
Offered here on Eden in black and purple the Bandito is a great dildo for beginners to sex toys as well as those who are new to texture. Want to use this on yourself? Go right ahead. Interested in using this on your partner? Yup the Bandito is good for that too. Especially if you’re interested in anal play. On top of have a g-spot curve for vaginal stimulation the Bandito has flared base that makes this dildo ideal for use anally. Although, I would recommend that those who are interested in purchasing this toy for anal play be at the intermediate level and aware of how their body would respond to texture.

The Bandito is made of 100% silicone which makes it the safest material for your body by Edens scale. This material is truly tasteless, odorless, non-porous, and phthalates free. While I’ll admit I’ve come across some silicone that didn’t quite live up to the tasteless and odorless standards silicone is said to have, the Bandito lives up to expectations. As with other Fun Factory products I’ve come across the Bandito is made of a firm, matte silicone.
If you’re looking for a product that you can mistake for the real thing, this isn’t for you. This is obviously a dildo from the look and feel of it. Neither the texture nor the material would fool you into thinking otherwise. Not only is this too firm to feel like a real penis but it does not retain heat…not to mention the swirled design. But honestly I could barely feel the texture along this curved g-spot dildo. While there is a bump located near the tip it was not noticeable. However, I was able to feel the slightly raised sides while this was in use.

In order to properly describe the design of the Bandito I have broken this portion of the review up into four parts: the sides, front and back, base, and measurements. I will note that this is not a travel friendly dildo before beginning as it is obviously a sex toy albeit an artistic one.
Sides
If you’ve ever seen a snail you know their shell has a kind of swirling pattern that trails in. Well the sides of this dildo have a similar design at the bottom with the raise portion being swirled. There is also a wave like design that goes up to the tip of the head. If there was anything I felt while using the Bandito it was felt through the sides where the dips and raises in the most unique ways.
Front & Back
The ‘front’ which, to me at least, is the portion of the Bandito made for g-spot stimulation provides a pointed curve. There is a slight bump in this curve to provide texture but it is only raised about a 1/3 of an inch and, given the slim size of this dildo, I didn’t really feel this bump when it was in use. There are other, slight raises in the front that make out the shape of a silhouette. Most of the textured portion of this toy can be seen from the back which has a 4 inch long dip with curves running down it and onto the sides.
Base
The base of the Bandito is interesting. I am used to most anal friendly sex toys having a round base that either has a flat bottom, or more likely, a suction cup. This base is triangular, consisting of three rounded points with curved in planes that in a regular triangle would be flat. They measure at 3 inches from rounded point to curve and 2 inches across each point. The flatten bottom of this base is much stickier and less matte then the rest of the dildo which I suppose helps with keeping this toy in place and provides suction.

Base Triangle: 3 inches at largest point.

One thing I was worried about when I first pulled the Bandito out of its packaging was the suction cup. My other dildo’s, from Tantus and Vixen Creations both have suction cups with a slight raise to them that captures the air and holds well. The Bandito has no such feature. Trying on a dry wall I found that the suction cup was able to firmly hold this light weight dildo. But I decided to also test out whether or not this would hold properly in the shower with water on the walls. Well what do you know it did, although I wouldn’t risk getting to adventurous with this stuck to a slippery surface as it might slide. Another great thing about the Bandito is that it’s triangular base is harness compatible. Given the slimness of the dildo I recommend a small o-ring.
There are a lot of great features to this toy; the material, texture, size, it’s utter beauty, and the g-spot curve Fun Factory was nice enough to include. All in all there are very few things not to like about this toy. But I don’t think it will be for everyone. Size queens who are used to texture will probably see no need for this. Also, from my own experience I can say this won’t hit everyone’s g-spot so the curve might be useless.

Since the Bandito is made of 100% silicone there is some caution required when choosing a lubricant for this type of toy. Mainly, do not choose a silicone lube for a toy that is made out of silicone. You may ask why. After all, if they are made of the same material they should be compatible right? Wrong. You can and will ruin your toy if you choose to use silicone lube with it. Same goes for storing it uncovered next to another unclothed silicone toy the materials will not react well to one another if touching. I would also recommend that you preferably never use an oil based lubricant with any toy regardless of material. This type of lubricant cannot be absorbed into the body which means you would need to flush it out after use. Unless you know you’re always going to take the time to do so I wouldn’t risk allowing the oil to fester on your skin post use. I highly recommend using a water based lube when playing with the Bandito, it is body friendly as well as silicone friendly making it the perfect sex toy accessory for this product.
According to Fun Factory the best way to clean the Bandito would be to use a mild soap and warm water. I would suggest that the soap be antibacterial and the water hot. Other options for clean this dildo can be to boil it, place it in the dishwasher, or use a toy cleaner like those sold here on Eden then give it a rinse. I find that even though the Bandito has nooks and crannies to worry about it isn’t too difficult to clean. Granted you will have to be careful the make sure any remaining debris doesn’t linger but it shouldn’t be too much trouble.

This is not my first Fun Factory toy so I knew what to expect in terms of packaging. Here we have the standard grey and red lightweight cardboard box that is semi-discreet with a picture of the toy and a description available in various languages. Inside, encased in a plastic box that molds only to the lower portion of the dildo, lay the Bandito. As with all Fun Factory items I’ve come across the Bandito also comes equipped with a folded paper that holds a dual purpose. It is both a manufacturers catalog and informs the customer of the material of the toy as well as how to care for it. Another plus is that Fun Factory is generous enough to include a small sample of their water based lubricant, Toy Fluid.
In general I would not recommend this form of packaging as a long term way of storing your toy nor as a gift packaging. It is not discreet enough to offer alone as a gift since there is a picture of the dildo and outline of other toys by the manufacturer featured on the outside of the box. Also, I would not use this for storage because the box and plastic casing both strike me as flimsy and would not hold up well over a long period of time.

If I’m being honest I have to say that while I like this toy, and I can see why many would love it, the Bandito just didn’t ‘wow’ me. Maybe I spoiled myself with dual density silicone, maybe I needed a toy with more texture, perhaps if it had hit my g-spot or the bump at the edge of the curve had been more prominent. For me, the Bandito was a toy that had all the makings of a great product but just didn’t meet my particular needs. Nevertheless I give it 4 stars because I believe that many others can wholeheartedly enjoy this toy without issue. When it comes to my toys I tend to be picky so while I enjoy owning this dildo for its sheer beauty I doubt it will be making too many appearances outside of my toy storage.
