A disappointing alien encounter

The Icicles No. 24 is a tentacle shaped glass dildo with much potential. Its shape and design is not for beginner use, in my opinion. The odd shape is not phallic by any means, and can easily be considered uncomfortable for someone not used to it.

Because of the odd shape of the No. 24, I found it extremely uncomfortable when used for repeated in & out--the bumps are VERY raised, and the wide shape just feels awkward to me. My preferred use (if at all) was to lube it up, slide it in, and then leave it there while I used a vibrator either on my clit or against the end of the dildo (with a sheet in between so as to help with noise and prevent any breakage/chipping of either toy).

Since the toy is glass, you can also run it under hot or cold water to heat it up or cool it down. If you're just wanting a quick shock of hot or cold temperature, you won't need to run it under water long since glass absorbs temperature fairly quickly. If you're looking for a long lasting temperature, you can stick it in the refrigerator over night, run it under warm water for 10 minutes or so, or microwave in a wet hand towel on half power for 20 second increments (careful, this does heat it up VERY quickly. You don't want to burn yourself!!).

The Icicles No. 24 is made out of glass. There is no smell or touch, but I do recommend washing it before use!

Glass is considered non porous, hypoallergenic, latex free, and phthalate free, and rates a 10 on the safety scale.

This is made of Pyrex glass so if in the off chance that it somehow breaks, it will break off into chunks rather than tiny pieces.

Personally, I love the firmness of glass, but I think I would prefer this toy if it were made of a softer material. The texture of the bumpy glass is just too much for me on this one. The top of the toy has 2 rows of bumps, while the bottom of the toy is veiny looking (similar to a tongue). The bumps are raised pretty high, while the veiny texture is actually wonderful, but no matter whether I used it "upside down" or "right side up", it wasn't a pleasurable toy at all.

Made from ribbed glass, this toy is approx 6" long, though with the "tail", it's really only 4" or so insertable.

The toy is also not round, which I didn't think would be a deal breaker for me until I tried it out. Instead, the toy is oval shaped, almost like a tongue. The width is bigger across than it is up and down.

The best part about the design of this toy is the "tail" at the end. The tail makes it easier to use if you are wanting to thrust in and out with the toy, or if a partner is using the toy on you (it gives them the perfect spot to hold onto!).

If like me, you bought this toy for its fun & funky appearance, you may find better use in putting it on display somehow, because the feeling of using it ruined by the intense bumps and awkward shape.

I think the best part about this toy is its shock value. As a performer, I've used it for videos & shows, and clients love to see its odd design, but even they seem to get past that pretty quickly and request that I move on to something more phallic in shape. The other good thing about the toy is its tail/handle, which if the toy were less rigid might make it easier to use.

The bumps on the top of the toy are not only too raised, but they are also too plentiful, a real pit fall for me.

Glass is easy to care for, however because of the bumps, grooves and overall shape of this toy, you may want to spend a few extra minutes on cleaning to insure that it is 100% clean. There is a deep ridge between the rows of bumps, which makes cleaning it by hand a bit difficult, so beware!

Glass can be run through the dishwasher, boiled, cleaned with anti-bacterial soap, or toy cleaner.

My favorite thing about glass is that it is compatible with any lube out there, so regardless of your favorite lube or allergies, this toy can handle it all!

Like all Icicles toys, the 24 comes in a well designed rectangular box with a "door" to open and see the toy through a clear plastic window. There was no user's instructions or storage bag with it.

I wanted SO badly to love this toy. I was enamored with its funky, tentacle like design, and I had such high hopes. Even holding the toy in my hand in between thoughts writing out this review, I WANT to love it--I just can't. It's too uncomfortable to me for use except for "Well maybe this time it'll be better" usage.

It hasn't gotten any better.
