Another let down.

The Amethyst is a great introductory tool to glass. It isn't too large or intimidating and has dual ends for a variety of pleasure.

Use

Like the Blossom G that I received on facebook promotion at the same time as the Amethyst, the Amethyst is a double ended glass dildo designed for g-spot stimulation. Unfortunately, I'm still on the search for my g-spot and this wasn't the toy that helped me stop my search.

Although it is designed to be used vaginally, it can be used anally for those who are very familiar with anal play. If you decide to use it anally, please make sure to keep a good grip on it. I don't play anally much, so I didn't use it in that regard.

Even though it is double ended, it's too short for two partners to play with it simultaneously.

This can be used solo or with a partner inserting it for you. My husband isn't a fan of dildos regardless of material so I use this alone. Regardless of how you use it, make sure to not thrust too hard as it could bruise ones cervix.

As glass does not have a motor, it can be used in any water situation that you please such as the tub, shower, or pool.

Glass is also a great toy for temperature play as well.

I'd consider this best suited for those who like non-vibrating, firm, dildos and those who like myself are searching for their g-spot or enjoy g-spot stimulation.

Material / Texture

Amethyst is made of Pyrex glass. Glass rates a ten on the Eden safety scale. It is considered to be non porous, hypoallergenic, latex free, and phthalates free. According to Wikipedia Pyrex is a brand of borosilicate glass that is more resistant to breakage when dropped. However, make sure to look over your toy carefully for any cracks or chips before using for the first time. If it happens to break, it will break into larger pieces instead of shattering everywhere.

It is completely odorless and tasteless.

Since the Amethyst was one of my first glass toys my first thought regarding glass was they were colder than I had expected. I had heard about where glass is an excellent source for temperature play, but when I received mine they were colder than I was expecting. If you're interested in temperature play, all you need to do to change the temperature to your desired level is to put it in a warm or cool glass of water.

Glass has no give to it at all so it is not for those who prefer smooth flexible toys. The Amethyst is completely smooth with the addition to the bulbs that look like a rattlesnakes tail.

Design / Shape / Size

The Amethyst is a double ended dildo where one end has four circles like a rattlesnakes tail, and one end has a head with a curve in it. It is completely see through. It comes in four color options: pink, green, purple, and blue. I have the pink only because it was the only color option given on the Facebook special. If I was ordering this at normal price I would have chosen either blue or purple.

The Amethyst has an overall length of 7". At the seam of the first head is 3 1/4" around and the other heads are all 4" around. The shaft of the flat end is 2 3/4" around and the head at the flat end is 3 1/2". Glass toys are hand made so this may vary from toy to toy, but the measurements should be close.

To me this looks very similar to the Bent Graduate. I do not have the Bent Graduate to compare them to one another, but from looking at the product page, their design is very similar.

I think the size is perfect for beginners or those that prefer smaller toys. Here's a picture of it with the Blossom G.

The Amethyst is pretty obvious that it's a sex toy by looking at it. I personally couldn't come up with anything else that it would look like, so if secrecy is important to you, I'd keep this put away.

I've mentioned in other reviews that I've traveled with the majority of my toys on visits with my best friend. The Amethyst is no exception. It was small enough to fit in my purse and I did not have any issues with it at all. If you plan on traveling great distances, make sure to pack with extra care and you should be fine.

Performance

I really like the end with the multiple bulbs on it. I've read many reviews regarding the Amethyst and was hoping my search for the perfect g-spot toy would end with it, but sadly that was just not the case. Overall, I still like the Amethyst. I like that it is small and is easy to handle. It was a great introductory toy for me to glass materials and I plan on buying more glass dildos in the future.

Again, even though this did not work for me that doesn't mean the shape and design won't be perfect for you.

Here's a picture of the Amethyst with the Pico Bong Koa when I was experimenting if hte vibrations would travel throughout the glass. I thought it would be nice to have this dildo vibrate, but it didn't work out too well because the Amethyst was too small for the clip to fit on properly.

Care and Maintenance

You shouldn't need too much lubricant with glass because a little goes along way. However, should you need lubricant the nice thing about glass is you can use any type that you wish with it. You can use water, silicone, oil, or hybrid-based lubricants.

The Hearts wand is also very easy to clean. I did not have any issues with the raised texture with this toy while cleaning it so that is wonderful. You can clean glass with warm water and antibacterial soap or use your favorite toy cleaner or wipe. You can also sterilize it by boiling it for no longer than five minutes. If you choose to do so, you can also use a 10% bleach solution. I'm the only one using my toys and I don't switch orifices so I persoanlly just use an Eden toy wipe to clean it.

Packaging

It was wrapped in bubble wrap and underneath the bubble wrap, the Amethyst was in a red velvet storage pouch that is not padded.

I keep my Amethyst in its storage pouch in a bag in my closet with all of my other toys out of sight of my two young boys.
