Use

The Vamp is a silicone dildo by Tantus made to resemble the sparkling skin of a sun-soaked vampire, or if you're more of a purist, the translucent skin of the undead creatures imagined by Anne Rice.

Despite it's 1 1/2" diameter, and being within the average penis side, the Vamp's is quite the chunk of silicone. I would not suggest it for a beginner or those squeamish to the girth, it might end in horror and not in the sexy vampire way.

In other words the firmness is something you should work up to, and unless you're experienced with a firmer, solid toy I wouldn't go crazy with the thrusting.

Material / Texture

The Vamp, even if rather firm is not unyielding, the toy will bend slightly but nothing like Tantus' O2 or Super-soft line. The silicone is slick, smooth and shiny featuring a pale shimmer which can be caught under certain lights, otherwise it looks extremely pale. It's odorless and tasteless and has a slight drag to the touch but nothing a little lube wouldn't solve.

My favorite part of any Tantus toy? Being comprised of 100% non-porous, hypo-allergenic, Phthalates free, latex free and body safe silicone!

Design / Shape / Size

The design isn't hyper-realistic and leans more towards a stylized cock with the abrupt head, which has been known to catch on pelvic bones and the tip has been reported to poke the cervix. I didn't experience either of these issues but it is something to consider if you've had problems with other toys. Even thought the toy doesn't have a g-spot curve the pronounced head is more than enough to tease and please with some maneuvering.

At 6 3/4" long with 6 1/4" of the toy insert-able and 1 1/2" of girth which translates into a 5" circumference, the toy is best for beginners to intermediate toys users.

Personally the design is very appealing to me and fits me quite well but as I mentioned above it can be quite the abrupt change if you aren't used to firmer toys.

Performance

I, personally, had to warm up to this toy. I purchased it after having 2 dual-density toys and was a bit shocked at the difficulty I had inserting it and using it at first. After I became a little more accustomed to it I had lots of fun! Even though I don't have a strap on for this toy, it is compatible with a strap-on that fits a 1 1/2" toy.

I would've liked it a bit better with a suction cup but it doesn't mess up the experience.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning is easy with this silicone toy! Boil it, toss it in the dishwasher (top shelf!), 10% bleach solution and always clean it throughout when sharing with a partner or when switching between anal and vaginal play.

When in doubt, put a condom on it but be sure that the condom doesn't use silicone lubricant as that will degrade and possibly ruin a silicone toy. Just to be safe, keep to water-based lubricants.

Storage is also a snap, it can be stored in its container, the clam-shell insert or however you want. But remember, silicone toys don't play well with other materials so keep them with their own kind so they aren't damaged.

Follow-up commentary
Since I've purchased other silicone toys, this one has fallen out of favor. The silicone is unyielding, and the head on the original version that I own is more pronounced than the subsequent releases causing it to catch on the pelvic bone.

The new model might be nicer, and I did originally like the toy, but learning more about my preferences and my body. I just can't say it's my jam anymore which sucks because I really loved the whole vampire theme behind it.
