Tentacle is more about looks than performance

The Tentacle is high quality and performs well overall, although, I think its appearance far outshines its functionality. It’s handmade, has an intricate design and a look that really stands out. Besides that, playing with a dildo that looks like a giant tentacle is a lot of fun!

Use

The Tentacle is a silicone dildo designed for vaginal penetration and curved to easily reach and stimulate the g-spot.

The Tentacle could be used for anal penetration and because of the curved design it would also provide males with p-spot stimulation. The lack of a flared base makes it less than safe for use as an anal toy and also means that it’s not harness compatible.

Material / Texture

The Tentacle is made of 100% silicone which is both high quality and extremely safe. Silicone is waterproof, nonporous, and can be fully sanitized which makes it possible to share this toy with others.

Right out of the package, the Tentacle has no unpleasant smell whatsoever. It’s firm and quite dense, but still flexible and bends easily. The entire toy is seamless, and there’s a dramatic curve from the base to the tip, which is soft and smooth. A textured surface, consisting of a series of raised circular bumps, each with a concave center, wraps around one side and gives the dildo the appearance of a tentacle.

The texture provides increased sensation during play although it was not as intense as I thought it would be. I think this is due to the fact that the toy is still somewhat soft and the textured surface is soft as well.

Design / Shape / Size

The Tentacle is an interesting and unique looking dildo. It combines dark blue and light green colors which fade seamlessly into each other along the length of the toy. The light green color also glows in the dark.

The Tentacle is 2 1/4 inches in diameter at its widest point and its size can definitely be felt. The curved design reaches the g-spot although the girth of the toy seems to distract just a bit from the g-spot stimulation.

Advanced users looking for a toy with a fun design that stands out from other dildos will really appreciate the Tentacle. It’s also a great option for those looking for a non-realistic dildo that doesn’t look anything like a real penis. Beginners wanting a basic or multipurpose dildo, however, will be better off looking elsewhere.

Performance

The end of the Tentacle, without having an actual base, makes it difficult to hold onto. I found this to be true when using with a partner and during solo play as well, especially when lube caused the toy become slippery. In addition, holding the toy and attempting to get a secure grip on it can easily cause you to lose insertable length.

The Tentacle works well for reaching the g-spot, feels good and its texture provides extra stimulation but overall there wasn’t anything particularly exceptional about using it. In fact, I think there are a lot of dildos out there that are equally good or better when it comes to performance.

Care and Maintenance

The Tentacle can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and water or toy cleaner and water. Because it’s made of 100% silicone it’s possible to sanitize this dildo and safely boil it or put it in the dishwasher. You can also soak it in a 10% bleach solution. The textured surface of the toy makes cleaning by hand especially difficult.

Like many silicone toys, the tentacle attracts hair and dust. Also, dust particles easily settle into the small crevices of the textured surface.

Silicone is compatible with both water and oil based lubricants but should not be used with silicone based lubricants, which will damage the toy.

Packaging

The Tentacle comes in a clear Ziploc bag that includes a piece of paper that describes the toy and the company, Whipspider Rubberworks. This bag probably won’t last for long and isn’t the best choice for storage.

For this price I can’t help thinking a little more packaging would have been nice, especially something to store the toy in.

Follow-up commentary
I still like the Tentacle, especially the unique design, I use it from time to time. It performs well and it's fun to play with.
