The right curves

The Amethyst is an awesome glass piece that should be added to any glass or G-spot enthusiast's collection. Its safe materials and great shape are great perks. I found it so easy to hit my G-spot with. It can be used for anal, and because of the bend, it can be used for P-spot stimulation as well. It's a beautiful toy and I highly recommend it.

Use

The Amethyst is brought to us by SSA Glass. I talk a little bit about the unknown company in my video for the similar toy, Deep Water G.
The Amethyst is a glass toy that's specifically for G-sopt play. If you haven't found your G-spot yet, this would be the one that helps you find it! Since the curve is most prominent, some might have trouble with it hitting the pubic bone. I did not have that problem at all. Another great feature of the toy's curve is that it can be used for P-spot play. Even though it has the curve and it has bulbs on the handle, care should be taken when used anally.

Material / Texture

Amethyst is made of glass. Borosilicate glass to be exact, which is also Pyrex. A lot of our kitchenware is made out of Pyrex. It's an awesome material for toys to be made from because it's a solid 10 on the safety scale. This type of glass is extremely difficult to break. It can withstand extreme pressure. While it's fantastic for temperature play, one of the few things that can break it is rapid temperature change. But, if it did happen to break, it's not going to shatter into tiny little shards. It will more than likely break in half or into huge chunks. I know some inexperienced users have the concern of glass breaking inside them while thrusting, so for these reasons, that will absolutely not happen.
In color, the one I chose is a transparent pale pink. It also comes in purple, blue and green. The shaft is solid and smooth. Mine came with no blemishes whatsoever.
I recommend glass to any level user because it's my favorite material for adult toys. This one could be great for beginners because the shaft is fairly slim.
Being glass, it's totally non-porous, so we don't have to worry about it harboring bacteria over time and it's a breeze to clean.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

I love the design. I'm and avid collector of G-spot and glass toys, so I love having my two favorite things in one product. It's a good size and it took minimal effort to find my G-spot while using this.
I don't think I'd call this discreet, but it's significantly less obvious that some other dildos out there. Both ends can be used. The handle end has three bulbs that make a great 'pop' when thrusting.

Length: 7.25 inches
Insertable length: Bent end 3 inches/handle end 4 inches
Circumference: 4 inches
Diameter: 1.25 inches
Weight: 9.7 ounces

Performance

I was not disappointed with the Amethyst. I was able to target my G-spot immediately and orgasm easily. It can be used for clitoral stimulation. Though it doesn't vibrate, a vibrating c-ring can be attached to it and it can just be paired with a bullet if you need that type of stimulation. Both sides are comfortable for solo play, but it's even more fun with a partner. Since it's glass, a little bit of lube goes a long way. I never have to reapply because my natural juices always kick in shortly after. All types of lube can be used with the Amethyst without worry of damage.
If you're a female and you've never ejaculated and are trying, this toy my be the one that gets you there.

Care and Maintenance

The Amethyst is a very low maintenance toy. It's easy to clean given its materials and shape. It doesn't have a million little nooks and crannies you have to be aware of. It can be put in the dishwasher or cleaned with soap and water. And, it can also be sanitized, by washing it with a 10% bleach and 90% water solution. I use my favorite California Exotics toy cleaner or the Eden Wipes with it. If wipes are used to clean glass, it can leave it a little spotty, so it's best to polish with a towel after it's dried.
It should be stored carefully. It comes packaged in a velvet drawstring bag encased in bubble wrap, so it can stay in that when not in use. The drawstring bag is a lint/hair magnet, so if it is not closed, that can get inside on the Amethyst, but it blows right off. The bag is not padded, but it is sufficient. If you're going to travel with it, I'd recommend using something more secure.

Personal comments

My boyfriend was the first person to handle this when it arrived at my house and he was lying around using it as a neck and hand massager for a solid hour before I even got to use it. He warmed it up and it held the heat for quite a while.

I love my Amethyst and it has not disappointed me. There are a few other toys that are exactly like the Amethyst, but I think this one might be the best. While some match it in circumference, this one is the longest and it's a few ounces heavier. I still love my Deep Water G more because the head is a bit thicker, but the Amethyst is awesome and I easily rated with 5 stars.
Follow-up commentary
While I'm a lover of all thing g-spot, this one just isn't for me. I found it just a bit too pokey and it ended up in the bottom of my toy box. Sometimes I even forget I have it.

Thanks for the review. But fyi you should be careful when microwaving glass. Like putting it in a bowl of water and then microwaving it for a short amount of time would be safer.

I appreciate your comment, Ningyo, but I'm not worried about it, especially because of the minimal 'cooking' time and borosilicate is microwave compatible. And, thanks for reading, guys.

The reason microwaving isn't suggested for glass toys is because it warms unevenly and you risk not realizing and burning yourself. Nice review though, thanks for sharing it.

Thanks for the review! I hadn't though about using it as a massager, but it seems that it would be easy to massage your own back with it.
