Great, except for the wet dog smell.

All in all, this is a pretty good product. It is a shame that the green tea scent smells awful when it comes in contact with water. For me, the purpose of using this product is to smell better, not like a wet sheep dog. I will be buying this product again when I run out, but definitely with a different scent.

Use

The Venus Body Scrub is supposed to exfoliate your skin with its Dead Sea minerals plus its other ingredients, and leave your skin feeling softer. I find that it does an okay job at this, though it could be a little more scrubby. It does not help that it is very runny either. In my opinion, scrubs should be a little thicker and a bit more gritty. Despite all of the above, it has left my skin somewhat softer than before I began using the product.

Because of the paraben and dyes, those with super sensitive skin might want to steer clear of this.

It is also very accurately described as aromatic, though make sure you get a good scent. I bought the green tea scent, which smells fantastic in the bottle. However, when I wash it off it leaves me with a wet dog smell. Luckily, or maybe not depending on your preference, the smell does not cling to skin very long. If it leaves any sort of smell at all, it is extremely light.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

In my opinion, this body scrub is pretty thin for what it is supposed to be. This does detract a bit from the overall experience. Though, if you prefer a runnier consistency, you will probably like this product a great deal. Because of how watery it is, it slides out of the bottle very easily. Be careful not to accidentally dump too much out.

The liquid itself feels a lot like hand sanitizer or a water based lube, while the minerals give it that grainy texture that body scrubs are known for. It does foam up a bit when you scrub it on wet skin, but not so much on dry skin. When you wash it off, it does leave your skin feeling somewhat softer, especially over extended use.

Taste / Aroma

The scent right out of the bottle is pretty strong, but not at all overpowering. It does not really stick to your skin once you wash it off though. I bought the green tea scent which smells beautiful in the water, sort of like green tea with honey. Though when I go to wash it off, it smells exactly like wet dog. Talk about a 180! Definitely not something I would want on my skin at all. If you do end up buying it, try to stick with a safer scent like cucumber melon or something like that.

As for taste, well, I have not stuck my tongue in it yet and I do not think I will be any time soon. It is not meant to be edible, and I would assume the taste would be pretty soapy.

Performance

A little goes a long way with the Venus body scrub, much like most other products. At this point in time as I write this review, I bought it a month or two ago and I still have a little more than half the bottle, and that is with every day use with the occasional spillage.

In my opinion, it feels a little gross if you do not wash it off. It has sort of a waxy feeling that is not all that comfortable to me. I prefer to wash it off, which takes little to no effort. It also leaves your skin feeling pretty nice and soft after use. The easy clean up is probably my favorite part about this product, besides how nice it makes my skin feel.

Personal comments

I was a little disappointed that the green tea scent smelled so awful after washing it off. Generally, I find that most things with that scent smell pretty good. I suppose it is a good thing that it did not stay on my skin for very long after use. Though I am sure I will not feel the same way when I go to buy this product again with a different scent. It also could have been a little more dense and scrubby, though I can not really complain since it does the job.

What a great review, Sylvie! I enjoyed reading this. What a huge disappointment though! I'm really sad to hear this wasn't nice smelling and wasn't any better than cheap-o soap, from the sound of it. I've had a few different of the scents on my wishlist. Thank you for sharing though.
