Body scrub - scrub discontinued by Venus - review by firepower442

My wife is a very young, fun, girly, and flirty sort of girl. Because of these wonderful aspects of her, I decided to use my points from EF to make her a gift basket of items she might like from the website. The Venus body scrub is one of the items I decided to order to put into her gift basket. What a great choice it was!
My wonderful wife suffers from very dry and sensative skin, so I bought this scrub for her in hopes that it would help her feel better and sooth her skin. It is also a natural product, and she is a very eco-conscious person (which I find so adorable). Instead of adding things like phthalates or triclosan, Venus made their scrub with ingredients like natural sea salt. However, there is artificial coloring.

The texture of this body scrub is great. I just added a quarter size dollop on a wash cloth with hot water and used it to scrub all over my wife's sexy body. It is very effective if you are trying to give a bath time massage to relax your sweetie! She nearly fell asleep in the tub!
Unlike some scrubs she has tried in the past, the salt in this scrub is smaller. It does not make your skin feel uncomfortable while in use. She said she has tried some that felt as though they were going to tear her skin to shreds, but the Venus scrub was gentle, soothing, and relaxing. Yay! That was my goal! It gently buffed away her dry skin to reveal the smoother and healthier skin below. I wish they made a tube of body moisturizing lotion with the same scents, so I could have continued the relaxation for my wife by massaging the dry and itchy parts of her body with a soothing lotion as well. The body butter from Venus, although a great product, would have been way too thick in this situation.
It made her skin feel very silky, smooth, and soft. I could barely keep my hands off of her skin after we got out of the tub. Not only did it feel silky and smooth, but it also had a healthier look to it as well! There was no unpleasent slimy or greasy residue here.

The smell is AMAZING! It is an artificial peach smell, but it does not smell chemically or overly sweet. It lingers perfectly and subtly on the skin even after your bath, and it fills the room while you are bathing. I found myself almost wanting to drink it because of the combination of two things. Number one, there is a picture on the front of the bottle of an amazing looking peach flavored frozen cocktail. Number two, it kind of smells like that peach soda from Vess that I used to drink by the pool every summer as a kid! YUM! Don't worry, I refrained because the bottle clearly states, "For external use only."

The Venus scrub is very easy to rinse off. You will not need any additional scrubbing to get it off. Just simply stand underneath the shower head for a few seconds, and Tah Dah!
You may have seen in other posts of mine that I work a manual labor job where I get pretty nasty and dirty on a day to day basis. This scrub not only buffs away my wife's dry skin, but all the dirt, sweat, and grease my skin hoards at work on a daily basis. It scrubs and washes without feeling like I have to scrub all of my skin right off my bones! I love how tough this product is on the nasty grease and dirt from my skin. Yet it is gentle enough on my wife's sensitive skin, so we have no problem showering together and sharing products.

The product is in a clear plastic bottle with a black plastic screw on lid. It is a product you have to poor out of the bottle. I will say I wish it was a squeeze top bottle. I am also really glad this is a plastic bottle because a clumsy man + shower water + breakable bottle = disaster!
It is an 8 fluid ounce bottle (which makes this product a pretty decent value at just $14.99 per bottle). The bottle is about the same height as a Nintendo Wii remote. There are no directions for use printed anywhere on the bottle. It's a body scrub so I would say it is pretty self explanitory. As long as you make sure the cap is screwed on tightly, I'm sure this product would travel well.
If you have kids or are having company, you don't need to worry about the bottle being displayed in your bathroom. There is nothing about the bottle that screams sex, or the fact that you bought it from a website that sells lingerie, condoms, and sex toys. It just looks like a product you could have just as easily picked up from The Body Shop.

It was just like the back of the bottle states, "Fall in love with Venus body scrub. Made to buff your skin to its softest." My wife's skin is at her softest and healthiest. Not only did we fall in love with this great smelling scrub, but I fell in love with my wife's skin all over again!
