Silk lube - lubricant discontinued by Sliquid, LLC - review by PeaceToTheMiddleEast

Silk lube is a water based lube made by Sliquid. I have heard so much great things about Sliquid that I had to give it a try myself. I had got it for a squirting dildo but that did not work out so well.

Sliquid silk is a hybrid lube what that means is it contains properties of both water and silicone. On the bottle it says it is a water based lube with a silicone blend. The cool thing is you can use this lube for just about anything along the lines of anal, sex, on toys and why not even use it for a hand job. Since this is a water based lubricant it does not work well in the shower or the bath tub.

You may want to avoid using this lube with silicone toys because of the silicone base in it. I have not tried it on any of my silicone toys so far. You also may want to do a spot test to make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients. The list is short but even still it is best to be safe then sorry.

Here is the ingredients:
Purified Water, Plant Cellulose (from Cotton), Isopropyl Palmitate, Polysorbate 20, Dimethicone, Emollient Ester, Potassium Sorbate.

Silk is kind of on the thick side. As I had mentioned when trying to use this with the squirting dildo was a pain because it dispenses so slowly but it does stay in place. I like how this just glided right in the vagina. I used it with my glass toy and one of my other toys and it went in so smoothly. The only issue I had was that when absorbed it left a white residue this did not really bother me though, others may not like that so much.

I did not taste this lube because I did not want any type of funky taste in my mouth. I don't think I would use this for oral either there are other things out there for that. I did not detect a smell with it either.

As for the performance of this lube. It could have lasted a little longer within a half hour I had to reapply it again. I also use Pink water based lube and enjoy that one very much. These two are at the top of my list, I just wish it lasted a little bit longer. I would get this again though because I enjoy it. If you had to wash it off which I did the residue left behind you can easily get it off with soap and water or even a toy wipe.

Silk comes in a bottle that is 4.2 oz or 125 ml bottle with a push cap. The label is in a pretty purple color with white lettering on it, and a pretty white flower. If you are traveling you may want to put it in something smaller that is easy to carry. I have mine in my toy chest in the side pouch and I have not noticed any linking of it so far. This is not really noticeable as a lubricant, unless someone is all up on the bottle.
