Silk lube - lubricant discontinued by Sliquid, LLC - review by SkylarrStarr

I ordered the Sliquid Silk for two reasons. The first being it's lack of Parabens and other harmful chemicals, the second being that Eden labels it as water-based, so it would be compatible with all the toys I own. Upon reading the product information on the Sliquid website, I discovered it is actually a water/silicone hybrid with 12% silicone (should have known from the Dimethicone). This discovery was AFTER I had used it with my brand new, 100% Silicone Tantus Vamp! I immediately ran to the bedroom to check for damage. Thankfully, it was still in perfect shape. I did a bit of further research and found several trustworthy sources which cited it's safe use for silicone toys. I would suggest spot testing it on Silicone toys if you are still a little timid about using it.




With that said, I very much enjoyed Sliquid Silk. I have sensitive skin and this was perfect for me. It did not cause any irritation, redness, or reaction. This lube is Hypoallergenic, Paraben free, Glycerin free, L-Arganine free and Petro-Chemical free, so it's almost as good as the real deal! Here is a full listing of the ingredients:

Purified spring water, sorbitol, isopropyl, palmitate, polysorbate 20, dimethicone, emollient ester, DMDM hydantoin



I only used this product for vaginal play so I cannot speak to it's effectiveness for anal use. But it does stay in place and is quite thick, so I am sure it would be suitable during anal play. Sliquid also makes the Sassy Booty specifically for that purpose.

Sliquid Silk is great for solo and partner play. It is also latex compatible so feel free to use it with condoms. Juice up a hand job or blow job, giving your partner extra stimulation. Since it is so versatile, any user from beginner to advanced will love Sliquid Silk.

Sliquid Silk has a nice, fairly thick, consistency which can be seen in the above photo. The lubricant is a slightly opaque white but it will not stain sheets or clothing if it gets on them; just wash the item as soon as possible and it should be fine. It is silky, just as the name suggests, with a smooth texture. It is not greasy, sticky, gloppy, or chunky. I would suggest shaking the product to the top of the container before squeezing it out to get best results. A small amount, as in the above photo, should be enough to get started and more can be added if needed. It will slide a bit until rubbed into place; I would estimate it would take 15-20 seconds to slide down and 8" toy. Should you find the lube to be wearing off it can be reactivated with a touch of water, so you may not need to add more. Clean up was a breeze as it simply absorbed into my skin after use. It can also be cleaned away with a wipe or in the shower. In all I found the texture to be very enjoyable and natural.

Sliquid Silk has no adverse taste or smell to it. This creates a very natural experience when using, as one is not distracted by out of the ordinary scents or tastes. It is perfectly fine to use this lubricant for oral stimulation, both male and female. But I would not suggest ingesting more than necessary, just a small dab to get the juices flowing. Should one want to add a bit of spice to oral play, Sliquid offers the Sliquid Swirl is six different flavors.

A single application of Sliquid Silk lasted throughout an entire solo play session. I did not need to reapply or reactivate it with a bit of water. It worked well with my natural lubrication creating a lovely session. I did not need to wash it off after play, as it worked smoothly into my skin. It allowed me to more fully enjoy my Vamp, which was a bit difficult for me to use the first time I tried it without any lubrication. It also complimented the Icicles 32 quite nicely. Sliquid Silk slid well along the glass and made for a lovely experience. I have no complaints about the function and performance of this product.

Sliquid Silk is available in a 4oz bottle on Eden Fantasys; which is nice and small, but not TSA friendly. However, it can easily be transferred into a smaller container for this purpose. If traveling with the original container, I would recommend taping the top closed or storing in a ziplock to prevent it from accidentally opening during transit. There is a larger size bottle available but Eden does not carry it. The plastic bottle is fully recyclable. Instructions for use, as well as ingredients and company information are included on the pretty purple label. The push top is easy to open with one hand, just shake the product to the top and squeeze.

Besides being Hypoallergenic, Paraben free, L-Arganine free, Glycerine free and Petro-chemical free, this lubricant is also Vegan friendly. How great is that? Want to be even more nature friendly? Try the Sliquid Organics Silk, which is certified organic and contains several natural emollients.

I am looking forward to trying Sliquid Silk with my Boyfriend and my follow-up review will contain a couple's perspective on it. I highly enjoyed this lubricant and hope that Eden will carry the larger size in the future. I look forward to adding more of the Sliquid line to my collection!
