Is there an A+ Blood Group?!

For a high-quality silicone toy this one is a steal. It's designed well for vaginal, anal and harness use and has a pretty finish to it, which looks great in person. Whilst vampires might not be your thing, I don't think there is any reason why you shouldn't sink your fangs into the Vamp! (Or is it the other way around?)

Use

Whilst vampires might not be everyone's cup of tea (or bottle of True Blood), I am confident the Vamp has plenty to offer even those disinterested in the recent craze. It boasts a sleek and sexy design coupled with a lovely shimmer, flared base and solid silicone make-up. Used vaginally, it has the right amount of give to let it mould to your body, without feeling at all limp, unsatisfying or too unrealistic. The length and girth also make it a manageable choice for those new to such types of dildos, as it won't stretch you or bump your cervix, yet the design means even old hands will find something to enjoy. Its flared base can be used as a grip for thrusting, but also makes it a very versatile dildo, as it can also be popped into a harness or used anally.

Material / Texture

The Vamp is made out of '100% Ultra-Premium Platinum Silicone' in a pale flesh colour mixed with subtle shimmer and small flecks of silver glitter. Frankly, it looks gorgeous, whether you are a fan of Twilight-style sparkling blood-suckers or just keen to ogle a damn fine dildo. The shimmer also is a great addition for those who find super life-like dongs piled up in their toy-chest a bit disconcerting, as it really takes the creepy edge off things. That is unless you've got your eyes shut tight pretending it's Mr Cullen or Compton; they'll still give you the chills!

The dildo itself definitely has a bit of flexibility to it, but not so much that it makes penetration difficult. Rather, it just curves to fit your body in just the right way and hit all the sweet spots when thrusting. The silicone is glossy and divinely smooth when slicked up with a bit of lube. It is a little sticky to the touch and prone to grab a bit of lint if left out of the package, but that's nothing a wash won't fix. It's definitely not as tacky as jelly or TPR toys often are. It also has the added plus of being odour and taste free, so you can happily suck on it without any worries. Perhaps the best part of its silicone design is that if you take good care of your Vamp it'll practically last a lifetime, not unlike its fanged counterparts.

Design / Shape / Size

Its design is semi-realistic, with a pronounced ridge at the head and some very shallow and abstract veins on the shaft. With about 6" of insertable length and a diameter of 1 1/2", I found the Vamp to be the perfect shape and size to please me. I'm not a size queen by any stretch of the imagination, so this ticked all of the right boxes when it came to providing a satisfying girth, without leaving me feeling stretched or uncomfortable. It's great for shallow thrusting, as the top third is where it's the girthiest and also because the ridge below the head provides plenty of delicious stimulation. Past this, its size tapers down a little to make for easy deeper thrusting, but the vein ripples provide little extra texture when in use. The flared base is easy to hold onto and means it works just fine in a harness and is safe for anal penetration

Performance

As I've already mentioned, it definitely works well for thrusting and vaginal play! However, I don't have a harness to test this with, so I can't comment on how well it holds up for that sort of use. Yet, the silicone seems firm enough for good penetration without too many hassles and it has a flared base to make it compatible with a range of harnesses. Similarly, I have not used it anally, as that's something I'm still dipping my toes into, but in terms of design it's definitely suited to that sort of play if you care to take the plunge.

Care and Maintenance

As this dildo is pure silicone it's not compatible with silicone lubes, so be wary of this. Yet, the best part about silicone is how easy it is to clean and sterilize. It's both boilable and bleachable, which means you can share this toy between partners and/or orifices without any concerns. For just a general clean it scrubs up well with some anti-bacterial soap and water. You might want to slip it into a little satin storage bag to prevent it picking up any stray lint which is floating around and also to make sure it doesn't have any nasty reactions with other silicone toys in your box. Vampires don't like to share - duh!

Personal comments

To be honest I wouldn't call myself a Twilight fan by any stretch of the imagination, so I didn't buy this dildo to fantasize about any young male characters in the series! I bought it because it was a steal; such a reasonable price for a silicone toy and an aesthetically pleasing design to boot. I definitely feel like it lived up to my expectations, even though the vampire appeal is a little lost on me.

Great review! And J's right, try tossing this in the fridge for a while before use, the silicone holds a temperature nicely.

Ah good point J and Lily, thanks for reminding me. I've experimented a little bit with glass for temperature play, but not silicone, so I'll have to give it a try!

Does the flared base create suction?
  • Contributor: Sundae
No, no suction at all. It's just a normal flared base that you'd expect to see on a harness compatible dildo.
