MiMi - discreet vibrator by Je Joue - review by Tagmstr

MiMi is a high-end "luxury" vibrator by the great people at Je Joue. She is labelled as a discreet massager, and they aren’t kidding. This little toy looks like a medium sized rock and could easily be mistaken for anything other than a vibrator if left out in the open. MiMi is best for clitoral stimulation but can also be used to stimulate the nipples or outside of the anus. I would not suggest inserting Mimi, vaginally or anally. She lacks a flared base, which could result in an unwanted emergency room visit. You can enjoy MiMi's powerful vibrations with multiple speeds and patterns. This makes her enjoyable by everyone from beginners to advanced users. With ten different speeds and patterns, there’s something for everyone!

MiMi makes a great addition to any solo session you may have. She can be used by herself or with other toys if you would like more than clitoral stimulation. MiMi is also great for couples play. She is great to enhance oral sex for your female lover or even spice up your average sex with some rocking clitoral stimulation.

MiMi is made of out a very high quality silicone. Silicone rates a 10 on Eden's material safety scale. Being silicone, she is only compatible with water-based lubricants. Using a silicone based lube can cause damage to your toy. MiMi is made up of a food-grade material, while also being hypoallergenic, latex free, non-porous and phthalates free.

MiMi's texture is the first of its kind that I have come across. It feels as if Je Joue covered her in silky soft, velvet. The only people who may dislike MiMi are females who enjoy a lot of texture. MiMi is seamless which only adds to her beauty! We have not used any lube with MiMi as she has no drag at all.

I did not notice any smell when we took her out of the box. As for taste, there was none.

Je Joue offers this vibrator in a few attractive colors. MiMi comes in four colors; pink, purple, black and rose. We decided to get the purple and were very happy with our choice. The purple is a little lighter than what is shown on the product page but not much. I think any female would find it to be an attractive color and I thought it looked pretty sleek myself!

MiMi has a very plain and attractive design to her. She is completely seamless as I stated before. The only thing on MiMi is the indent with Je Joue's name and the company logo.

This is one tiny vibrator! I looked at multiple pictures before making my purchase and nothing could have prepared me for how small she is! We didn't find this to be a downfall; if anything this pleased my fiancé. MiMi has a total length of three inches.


MiMi's shape instantly attracted me to her. The best way to describe MiMi is it looks like Je Joue took an egg and flattened it out.

MiMi is incredibly easy to operate. She only has two buttons; a plus and a minus. You hold the plus sign for three to four seconds to turn her on. To turn her off, hold the minus sign for three to four seconds. MiMi starts off with five speeds. Once she’s on, you hit the plus sign once to increase the speed. After you cycle through the five available speeds, you hit the patterns. There are five of those as well. If you decide that you want to go back to the speeds when you are on the patterns, you just hit the minus button and you will go backwards through the cycles and hit the speeds. It is fairly easy to remember which "number" speed or pattern you are on because they are all significantly different from one another.

All of MiMi's speeds are fairly enjoyable. They range from moderate vibrations to pretty intense. This makes MiMi perfect for experienced users, while still being beginner friendly.

MiMi will surely surprise you with her deep and rumbly vibrations. Her vibrations are surprisingly strong for such a small vibrator. We were pleasantly surprised with the vibrations she gave off. MiMi's intensity starts off at about 2 vrooms at her lowest speed, while making a high jump for 5 vrooms when on her 4 and 5th speed. While my fiancé doesn't proclaim to be a "power-queen", she does like a good amount of intensity and MiMi surely didn't let her down. MiMi has quickly become my fiancé’s favourite and "go-to" toy. She hates toys that lose intensity when a lot of pressure is applied. We have not had any problems with this when it comes to MiMi. MiMi is the one toy we have tried that was able to provide her with enough stimulation that she was actually able to squirt in under a minute.

MiMi's vibrations are mainly located at the tip but she does not really give any pinpoint stimulation. Even with that being said, I do think that almost everyone can make MiMi work for them. MiMi's vibrations are felt at the base but we haven't experienced losing any feelings in our hands. MiMi requires you to be hands on. She is almost impossible to place and enjoy the ride.

MiMi's buttons are fairly small. I have read a couple reviews that stated MiMi's buttons were hard to push. We didn't encounter that problem. While MiMi's buttons aren’t "soft" enough that you'll mistakenly change them in the middle of your play, we had no issue changing settings. My fiancé and I actually both like the harder to push buttons. She hates it when she’s in the middle of masturbating and the vibrator randomly changes speeds.

One of my favourite features of MiMi is that there is no hole for charging. Her charging port is the plus and minus buttons. To connect MiMi to her charger, just place the charger close to her buttons. If the charger is the right way, the magnet will pull the two together. If the charger is not the right way, MiMi will not attach herself. We love this feature because there is never the added worry of, "Is it going to charge properly?", "Is everything in the right place?". While MiMi is charging, she will blink red. Charging is complete when the red light is solid. It takes about two hours to charge her. We've used MiMi for about two hours before recharging her. At that point, she was not loosing her charge but we were done and placed her back on her charger. Therefore I do not know if MiMi just dies or slowly looses power when the battery is low.

My fiancé was extremely pleased with how quiet MiMi was. For how strong her vibrations are, she makes very little noise. She rated MiMi's bee level at one and a half. I personally would give MiMi a two on the highest setting. You wouldn't be able to hear MiMi on her highest setting through a door if you are under the blankets or have music and/or the t.v. going.

MiMi is waterproof so feel free to take her on any adventures in the bathtub that you want to. My fiancé personally doesn't like using toys in the shower so I cannot provide any feedback on how waterproof she is or how well she works in the water. The manual MiMi comes with says that she can even be submerged but we have not tried that either.

MiMi is a breeze to care for. She is waterproof and has no grooves or seams that are hard to clean. MiMi can be cleaned with soap and water. You can also use a toy cleaner. We have not found that MiMi was catching tons of lint and hair, which is always a plus for us since we have multiple animals! Nobody likes a lint magnet. Once again, only water-based lubricants are compatible with MiMi!

My fiancé chooses to store her MiMi in the original packaging. This is partially because she is infatuated with the packaging. The box is very discreet as it is jet black with the words Je Joue written once across the top. Unless someone knows of the company Je Joue, they will not know what is inside but may be tempted to look because of the outstanding box. You can also keep her in a toy pouch if you would prefer.

MiMi's packaging will absolutely please any women. This box is so gorgeous you could give MiMi to someone has a gift, and not do anything to wrap it at all. I actually think wrapping this box in away way would simply take away from its beauty. MiMi arrives inside two boxes. The outside cardboard box is an interesting red and purple mix. It will surely have you thinking of a bottle of wine. This box is only there to protect the black inner box. The inner box is the gem of the packaging. The inner box is a flip top style. There is a small ribbon that ties into a bow to keep the box closed.

When you untie the flip top, you'll open your box to find MiMi snuggled inside a plastic cut out shaped perfectly to fit her design. Her charger and instruction manual is placed underneath her. My fiancé enjoyed this layout as it allows for MiMi to be the star of the show when opening her box. The plastic cut out which hold MiMi also has a small ribbon attached. This makes accessing the charger much easier. MiMi's instruction manual is incredibly thick for the amount of information you actually get. She is fairly easy to operate and this was one toy we did not find the manual useful.
