Whether from medication, age, or simply body chemistry, many people have a need for an intimate moisturizer. Anyone can have a dry day. Just a drop after a shower can help your discomfort vanish. However, this product isn't confined to its advertised purpose! I've found that this makes an unparalleled vaginal or external lube.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Satin natural moisturizer by Sliquid has a fantastic consistency for people who like a little friction and a little slickness. This thinness does have a few drawbacks. For instance, a few drops on the tip of a clitoral vibrator may end up on your sheets or belly. It is also not ideal for sex in the water. However, I find this has the perfect viscosity to keep things a little slippery without a thick lube-barrier between the action. Those of you looking for a super-thick anal-style lube should look elsewhere.

The pros of Satin's thinner consistency are almost endless. It allows for a variety of sensations; as it dries, there is more friction produced. Also, it is non-staining, like many water-based lubes, and even less staining than thick "non-staining" water-based lubes that do leave a dark mark until laundered.

It does not have an unnatural, silky quality - it very closely mirrors the texture of natural vaginal lubrication. It is not sticky, tacky, greasy, oily, or gooey. It is extremely easy to pour.

Taste / Aroma

Satin is absolutely the most TRULY natural lubricant I've found so far. The taste and smell are almost non-existent. It has a natural sort of sweetness to it that is very light, very different from the average drugstore lubricant's heavy smell. The best part is that I've found that it barely alters that awesome natural sex smell. Most lube seems to go through some chemical changes during sex that make everything smell like plastic. We still smell "like us" when lying in bed afterwards - the sweet smell that it has in the bottle almost completely vanishes. I have never used a lube before that smells like what it should smell like - almost nothing!

TASTE AND SMELL: both minimal, on the sweet side, a bit like peach

Performance

During masturbation, I've found that I need to reapply an average of about one time. It is not long-lasting, and therefore I wouldn't recommend it as an IDEAL anal lube. However, it is so pleasant to the senses that I don't mind.

I have not had to reapply for penetration, but if you tend towards naturally dry, you may have to reapply.

It cleans up phenomenally. On my skin, it does not pill up afterwards, nor does it leave slime, grease, or a sticky or tacky feeling. This would be the #1 lube I would recommend for people with sensory processing issues, or a very sensitive sense of smell. Anyone at all, of any gender, with any needs, could benefit from having this lube in their collection!

The packaging is elegant - by far the most elegant lube label I have ever seen. It comes in a blue bottle with a dark blue label and gold and white lettering. The front of the label features a flower and Venus symbol and the text "Satin by Sliquid" and "glycerine and paraben free" and "natural intimate moisturizer"

The side label advertises the ingredients list, found above.

The back label features some cool facts about the lube:

Special Features

Again, the list of special features goes on and on! Vegan, hypoallergenic, paraben-free, glycerine-free, DEA-free, gluten-free, PEG-free, propylene glycol-free, sorbitol-free, sulphate-free, glycerol-free, gluten-free, moisturizing, natural, and phenomenal.

Satin's water-based formula means it doesn't stain like oil-based lube. It also means Satin is compatible with any toy, even silicone toys, and compatible with all condoms, unlike silicone lube.

Experience

My experience? This is absolutely my favorite lubricant of all-time. It's perfect for penetrative or external play, solo or partner, any position, all ways, always. Unless I'm going for an extended anal session, I find myself grabbing this lube ten out of ten times. I couldn't possibly be happier with it! Natural, great texture, phenomenally minimal smell and taste, and great at what it does for someone who likes a little friction!

Follow-up commentary I still like it 3 months after original review

I am completely infatuated with this lubricant. Yes, as others have said, it is too thin for anal sex (though it's just fine for inserting a plug). It also gets a bit tacky during long external masturbation sessions. I had to reapply it several times during an extended hand-job.

Having said that, there is absolutely nothing I would change about the lube itself. It is as close to odorless as any product could ever be. It is totally hypoallergenic, and my sensitive bits have no problems at all with using this internally. It isn't filled with nasty parabens that mimic estrogen and may mess up your body.

Since writing this review, I've tried a handful of other lubes, including a few in the Sliquid line. Satin by Sliquid is still my absolute favorite. I cannot emphasize enough how much I love that it doesn't make you and your partner smell like soap, or flowers, or truck stop spray perfumes! There is nothing distracting about this lube, so you can focus on what's really important during playtime!

The only difficulty I've come across since my review is that gorgeous jewel-toned bottle. I am in love with the rich, dark blue color. In direct sunlight, it shines a radiant sapphire color with purple undertones. I'd go so far as to call the color dazzling. Discreet, with a mature and elegant design that does not incorporate naked models - who could ask for more? I could. Unfortunately, it is actually too dark to see how much is remaining in the bottle.

You know you've found your perfect lube when you have to really dig to find something negative to say about it!

When my bottle gets low, I will replace it without hesitation. Satin by Sliquid is my favorite lube of all-time!
