This oral sex simulator can be just as frustrating as the real thing - in a mostly good way!

I have really mixed feelings about my SaSi, but in the end it offers sensations that no other toy in my collection can offer. For all its frustrations, it has helped me slow down and listen to my body and figure out what works for me, and that's priceless. I think of it as a self-educational device as well as a traditional stimulator!

SaSi is a unique external stimulator and vibrator made by JeJoue. Although you could use the SaSi for stimulating various parts of your body, it is mainly marketed as a clitoral stimulator for women, and furthermore it is sometimes referred to as simulating the sensations of oral sex. It sort of does!

The toy is an object about the size of a computer mouse, covered with a thin, flexible silicone membrane on the bottom and with push buttons on the hard plastic top. The silicone cover makes it possible to sterilize the cover well, but since there are crevices where the cover attaches to the main part of the toy, it could be a little tricky to completely disinfect for multiple users (I am the only user of mine, so I haven’t tried to do that). Beneath the silicone cover, there is a metal ball that moves in 11 pre-programmed motions, including shapes resembling “C” or “J”, as well as top-bottom, left-right. In addition to the sweeping movements of the metal ball, the toy can also vibrate. The user can control whether the vibration is on or off, and the speed of the vibration. One of the unique features of the toy is the ability to “teach” it what you like – while the toy is performing a particular motion, with the press of a button you can tell it “don’t stop!” or “harder!” or "slower!" or “no thanks!” and it will remember your preferences for next time (favorites). You can also choose the other mode, where it cycles through all possible motions.

That sounds great, and the list of features is what convinced me to spend so much on a toy. The issue is whether you have the time and patience to learn to operate it, and if the level of motion/vibration will be enough for you personally. And who wants to be patient when you want an orgasm? That’s when I’m usually the least patient! I don’t think I need an exceptionally strong amount of vibration to orgasm, but my first few tries with the SaSi were extremely disappointing. The vibration, when you have it on, is steady, so it can become monotonous. It is also not particularly strong. Where SaSi is unique is the tongue/finger-like motions of the metal ball. This also disappointed me initially, because the actual range of motion is quite small – about 1 inch up and down along the toy and 3/4 inch left-right across it, and no in-out movement, just combinations of up-down, side-side. The limited range of motion is what interferes most with the fantasy of it simulating oral sex. That said, with a little (non-silicone-based) lube and the right position and pressure, the motions it does make are a reasonable imitation of at least part of what oral sex is like.

There are minor design issues with SaSi, including the difficulty of removing the cover of the charging port, and that the charging plug doesn’t fit the port on the toy totally securely. But SaSi’s other flaw – that it has small, delicate motions – was actually its biggest plus for me in the long run. It was so expensive I was determined to make it work, so I spent a lot of time alone, trying positions, speeds, and motions, and while it felt like a science experiment sometimes, I really learned the type of stimulation that will get me off personally. The next time I had occasion to direct someone performing oral sex on me, I didn’t mumble “maybe a little more…I don’t know…to the side?” or make vague hand gestures. I knew exactly what suggestions to make and had a mind-blowing time with my partner! I didn’t anticipate it would be useful in that way, but that’s how it worked best for me, to teach me about my own body and responses. I still take it out occasionally, but it’s not a go-to toy for orgasms, it’s more of a warm-up or appetizer.
Experience
Other reviewers have noted that there is a HUGE list of DO and DON'T activities in the SaSi manual. The first time I used it I was definitely unfamiliar with its functions and I hadn't read the manual all that carefully. I was using it under a blanket, and it heated up really fast, so much that I might have caused mild injury to my skin if I had decided to press on anyway. Heed their warnings and take a break if it heats up too much! And related, don't expect to be able to use it for prolonged periods of time, even on different body parts - it will heat up.

Another tip: try it on different parts of your body. I have a sensitive spot behind my ear and I like to let it massage there just for the pleasure of the sensation, even if it's non-sexual. Great for nipple massage too, especially with a small amount of lube applied to the toy.

@CarrieAnn, @Sammi I couldn't contain my curiosity when it came out on the market, I had to have one! It definitely has pluses and minuses, but it is also definitely unique.

This review fills me with hope- I've never made it all the way with oral stimulation (but I know my clit works!), and I wonder if I had a SaSi to practice with, I'd have enough information to make it happen with a partner. Thanks for your review, Spicy Sunday.
