First Massage Candle

This massage candle was nice to try out, but it isn't likely that we will purchase it again. It felt a little waxy and didn't absorb into the skin like a thin bottled massage oil would. It smells great and you may just like it if you don't mind showering afterwards.

Use

This is a Massage candle made by Dona. It's best used for massaging the body. I wouldn't recommend using it internally. As with most products you run the risk of having an allergy, if you have allergies.

Ingredients: Glycine Soja Wax, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Oil, Laminaria Digitata (Algae) Extract, Nymphaea Caerulea (Blue Lotus) Flower, Fragrance

It took a good 45 minutes to heat up to a point where we had a lot to work with, which wasn't a big deal as it smells great and the scent filling the room really added to the experience. My partner and I use a massage oil in a bottle but were eager to try this out because it didn't require being warmed up. While it is warm, it doesn't burn at all.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

When unmelted it feels and smells just like a normal candle. Once melted it feels like a thicker, slightly waxy massage oil. It's still very runny just not as thin as a regular massage oil. The circular container doesn't have a spout and it makes it a little harder to pour, as there is no set direction and you have to just hope it pours where it should.

Ince on the back and rubbed in for a quick second it stays in place nicely. It was slick for a little bit. I'm not sure if we used too much, but it thickened quicker than we wanted and became a little greasy. It made us want to shower afterwards. When it comes in contact with water, it beads up. that is to be expected with an oil though.

Taste / Aroma

I didn't want to taste this but it smelled lovely. It did smell a little on the feminine side, but since we always need to shower after using it's not a big deal and my boyfriend doesn't really mind too much. It reminds me a little of fruity flowers, and I can't really describe it any other way.

Performance

We felt the need to reapply every 5 minutes or so as it thickened up quickly and felt a little waxy. After using we had to wash it off right away and couldn't just get dressed and go about our regular day. A hot shower with soap worked just fine. I can't say I'm surprised, as wax is an ingredient. It's necessary to turn this into a candle so we don't mind.

We find that a regular oil is more convenient but this is a lovely scented novelty. I absolutely love candles of all types so this is the main reason we decided to try this out. There is something seriously sexy about a flame, and a romantic massage.

Experience

We will use this until it is gone but it's not likely we will buy it again. It's more expensive than our regular massage oil and it isn't as convenient to use. I still feel every couple who enjoy massages with oils should check this out.
