Mmmmm...right *there!*

The "M" massage stone is totally worth buying for someone who either knows they like massage stones for more pressure, or for someone who wants a "cleaner" massage and doesn't like getting oil all over their hands. Massage stones aren't for everyone, though, and I wouldn't recommend buying this one if you didn't like other stones you've bought for this purpose. One big suggestion for "M" stone users: Put the effort into warming it up. It definitely makes the experience better!

Pros
Holds heat easily once warmed, discreet for gift giving, Fantastic for targeting deeper muscles
Cons
Needs warming in the winter to be comfortable...a kit with a warmer and/or oils would be awesome!

extremely useful review
The Contour "M" is part of Jimmyjane's line of ceramic massage stones, which also include the Contour "I" and the (unfortunately) now-discontinued Contour "Q" stones. The "I" stone can still be found on the Jimmyjane website at the time of this review, and it is not currently available through EdenFantasys. I had to search the internet high and low for the "Q" stones, so if you want the whole set, I wish you luck. The "M" has a very smooth, shiny finish all over it, and there are two perpendicular "grooves" it in, one shallower and one deeper, to work with the "I" and/or "Q" stones.

So back the "M" specifically: Of the "Q" and "M" stones I have currently, I like the "M" the best. I like the pinpointed pressure it provides when my fiance gives me a massage, and I especially like when it's warmed up. Since it is made of nonporous ceramic, the "M" is very safe and very good at conducting heat or cold. We're not a fan of temperature play, so we won't be trying it cold, but it is very nice when warmed up by body heat or another warming method. If you are just warming it with your body, though, it does take awhile depending on the temperature of the room. I keep the house at about 70 degrees Fahrenheit, but at night it goes down to 62. Under those conditions, it takes about 5-10 minutes before the massage stones feel the same temperature as my body.

I did a lot of research on massage oil warmers and stone warmers, and the advice for casual or home use was to use a small crock-pot with water in it to warm up the stones and/or a small bottle of oil. I don't have a small crock-pot yet, but when I do hopefully get one, I'll follow-up with how it goes. Truly, I think there is a sizable market for something like this in the adult toy marketplace, and I'm surprised no one has come up with it yet.

Another thing I like about the "M" massager is that if you use it only one way (either smooth side down or four corners down), you won't get a lot of massage oil all over you. I don't mind getting oil on my hands, but if you're someone that does mind, massage stones might be right for you.

My fiance and LOVE giving and receiving massages, and much of our physical relationship progressed after we discovered how good it felt to help each other relax through massage. Massage was also a great way to slowly get to know what each of us liked. When we tried the "M" and "Q" stones, we already knew what each other liked as far as basic massage strokes, so I think that helped us with the "learning curve" that massaging with stones seem to have. When I read some reviews, I had a some doubts that we just wouldn't like using them, and I'd wasted the money. I'm glad I took the chance though, because for me it was well worth it (see experience section below). My fiance still prefers bare-hands-only massages over using the stones, but I actually like both stone and bare-hands massages equally.

A really wonderful feature of ceramic is that it is super easy to clean. Just wash it with soap and water and let it air-dry before storing it. Easy-peasy! I usually wash it the following morning if I'm the one getting the massage, but if I'm giving it, I like to clean up the oil on my hands right away, so it's just as easy to clean the stones as well. One important note from the EF ceramic toy care website is that you shouldn't scrub it with anything rough or abrasive. The surface is so smooth, though, that I can't imagine ever needing to really scrub it. Ceramic doesn't require special storage either, and I just use the boxes they came in. Since they are marketed as massage stones, the packaging doesn't scream "She bought this from a sex toy shop!" I would feel 100% comfortable giving this massager as a bridal shower or wedding gift if I knew the bride well enough.
Experience
When I first ordered this product, I also ordered the "Q" stones from another website, so my fiance and I started using them together. I had this idea from other reviews that they "belonged" together somehow. So my fiance poured massage oil on my back, and then picked one of the "Q" stones to put inside the "M" stone. When he rolled it on my back at first, it was cold, but it gradually warmed to my body heat. The "Q" stone with the bumps didn't roll very quietly in the "M", and in fact made a sort of "clacking" sound. So we tried switching it to roll in the deeper groove. That was equally loud, and when my fiance applied too much pressure, it actually hurt when he got to some tighter muscles.

Next, we tried the other ridged "Q" stone. And though I liked the feel of that one better, it was still a little loud. Personally, I like my massage to be quiet and tranquil with the only sounds coming from my blissful sighs and sliding skin. Maybe we need to experiment more with different amounts of oil, but right then the "Q's" were a bit of a dud.

Finally, we tried just the M itself, and that was a revelation! All of a sudden, my muscles relaxed, and my fiance could work out the kinks so much easier. To my body, the skin on my back and my muscles were SINGING with happy sensations! The four corners of the M could knead into deeper muscles without him using any more force than when he used his hands. I also discovered that I like the stronger, more-targeted pressure sometimes. If I hadn't felt it myself, I wouldn't have believed how massage stones can target muscles and relax them so much faster and deeper than bare hands. Wow! Incredible!
Follow-up commentary
I LOVE my Contour M, especially with the I stone in it. My favorite place to use it is on my back and shoulders, where like a lot of people, I tend to carry my tension and stress. Though my fiance's hands are still wonderful, sometimes I like the extra pressure and pinpoint accuracy of the stones. I still prefer the M stone alone or with the I over using it with the Q stones. I've found a use for the Q stones, however, doing foot massages when I'm sitting on the bed and I roll them on the floor with the soles of my feet. It's an awesome feeling and a quick way to refresh my feet after a long day of standing. As for the M and I stones...I think they are much more versatile, and they are still a worthwhile purchase IF you like stronger pressure for massages.
