Contour M - massager discontinued by Jimmyjane - review by Kitka

Use:

The Contour M by Jimmyjane is a ceramic massage stone that is designed to be used a number of ways. First and foremost is for massage in a few different techniques. Use one of the nubs for a single point massage that does a great job of working out kinks and knots from muscles, use all four of the nubs for a multi-point massage that's much like a single point massage but more intense. This technique really works the pains out of sore and tired muscles. Lastly you can flip the Contour M over and use the large rounded surface for broad strokes which is a great way to generally smooth out soreness from larger areas like the back and thighs.

This massage stone can also be warmed up or cooled down, depending on your preference, since ceramic does a great job at holding temperatures and in turn you will gain some refreshing and relaxing sensations during the massage.



Material:

Ceramic is the material this massage stone is made from and it's very smooth to the touch with the exception of the inside "plugged" hole where it was molded, etc. from. Ceramic is a body safe material with a 9/10 rating on the Eden materials safety scale. It is vitrified, which means it's changed into a glassy substance using heat fusion, to make it non-porous. Ceramic is also food-grade material, latex and phthalates free and hypoallergenic making it a great material for those with sensitive skin.

The ceramic used for the Contour M is waterproof and lubricant or oil compatible to help it glide along smoothly for a more enjoyable massage. The cupped shape of the underside is perfect for pooling up your oil and then dumping onto the skin; it also keeps your hands oil free if that's something that bothers you while giving your partner a massage.



Design:

The Contour M almost looks like a tooth with four very stunted, rounded roots. It is however rounded all over to make sure the material doesn't catch or cut skin while in use. The M is about 3" wide by 3" long and 2 1/4" tall. It doesn't weigh very much, only 0.3 of a pound, so it won't be hard to hold or taxing on your wrists while using it. It is all white with the Jimmyjane logo running down one of the nub sides and the only other mark on it is the seal or plug where the hole is from the mold or what have you. There are no gaps or seams in this massage stone at all.

Performance:

My husband and I love this massage stone equally because it's versatile, easy to use and just plain enjoyable. We can both use it on each other without our wrists or hands getting tired after only 15 or 20 minutes of use, so longer massages are now possible and they are more relaxing. Once you add some massage oil to this it glides along very smoothly, regardless of body hair it may come contact with. I personally love this massage stone because it doesn't hurt my back; I'm very small and don't have much muscle tone on my back so using massagers like the Hitachi on it are just plain painful. I just wish Eden still carried the other massage stones like this one so we could use them all together!

Care & Maintenance:

Cleaning the Contour M is very easy, just wash it with warm water and soap or toy cleaner or wipe it down with a toy wipe and thoroughly dry it off before storing it away. To store the massage stone you could keep it in the box it comes packaged in or you could purchase a pouch for it. You can however leave this out on your nightstand or bureau since it isn't an obvious sex toy, so definitely display it if you want to.

Packaging:

The packaging that the Contour M came in is very minimal yet informative. It consists of a white box with a grey strip running around all the sides, a pop-open top that reveals a bright pinkish-red inside and the Contour M nestled in under the instruction manual. The back and sides of the box are very informative telling you all about the massage stone and it shows you some of the other things available from Jimmyjane like the Contour I and Afterglow Candles.



There is an instruction manual included with the Contour M that tells you how to use it, care for it and lists some safety notes. All of this information is repeated in four more different languages throughout the rest of the manual.

I never really liked giving massages just because it always ended up hurting my hands, wrists and arms with the effort that I have to put forth to give my husband a good massage. He's a bigger fella and needs deeper massaging but being a petite person with small hands makes it hard for me to do that for him. I'm always on the lookout for great massaging tools for this reason so I was very happy to be able to get the Contour M and try it out with him.

He enjoys every massage I give him but he really gets into it when I use this massage stone because I can work his back muscles for longer and get in there deeper than I would with my fingers. This massage stone also feels great on my back as opposed to painful, intense massagers like the Hitachi. No offense Hitachi, I still love you but my back doesn't!
