Devine playchest - storage container discontinued by DevineToys / AfterCare - review by PassionQT

I had a problem that needed a solution, fast! You see, I'm a toy addict and my collection had begun to take over my office space. The drawers that were once used for crafting supplies were overflowing with dildos, dongs, vibes, whips, and more. I needed help, desperately, some kind of... intervention. Then on one warm fall morning, The Devine Playchest by DevineToys appeared on my doorstep and 'offered' to assist me in organizing my clutter. If you, too, are looking for 'professional help' in getting your toy hoarding habit under control, you may want to take a closer look at this beautiful piece!

The chest is available in either pink faux leather with black trim (on the sides and handles) or in black with pink trim, which is what I selected. The finish is a shiny, embossed faux crocodile skin, which has a smooth, textured finish. The base material below the faux leather is actually quite sturdy, making this a very solid case. The inside is lined throughout with a black, satin-like material, that could easily being wiped with a damp cloth and left open to dry if something were to spill inside. Likewise for cleaning the outside. No loose threads were visible, so I'd have to attest to the excellent construction of this item.

What really stands out about the Devine Playchest is its generous size. Not too small, but not too large either. It could easily slide under one's bed or on a shelf in the closet, no one knowing the better what's inside. It's very roomy, measuring 15" long x 8" wide x 10 " tall. You can't really appreciate the size of it until you get it in your hands, but if you have a moment, check out the video presentation on the main product page and you will be able to get a better idea of its dimensions and how toys can be arranged.

Upon opening the chest, there is a removable divider running lengthwise across the main bottom portion. It attaches to the edges with Velcro that runs along the top edge/width of the chest, enabling the user adjust the size of the main compartment based on one's needs. One side of the divider is smooth, while the opposite side has small mesh pocket (great for condoms, cock rings, batteries, etc...) on one end, and an elastic band next to that, to hold toys or bottles of lube upright and securely.

Both sides of the top opening/'domed lid' are each equipped with a large mesh pocket, to allow for additional toy storage. I recommend placing lighter weight toys/implements up top just to reduce stress on the hinges.

The playchest is also furnished with a locking mechanism. Just pull the strap across the closed chest, under the handles, and snap it in place in the lock. A small fork-like key is included to secure the case. Pretty easy! It's not Fort Knox, but it should keep out nosey nellies.

Obviously, there are more affordable options out there, but if you want something *special*, the Devine Playchest is that and more! It receives a well-deserved 5-star rating from this discriminate user.

The hardest part about owning this case was deciding what to put in it! Toys or other? Hmm...decisions, decisions. I opted for putting all my BDSM implements and strap-on harnesses in it, mainly because if I had chosen to put toys in it, I would have had to make sure that certain materials wouldn't come in contact with others and that they all be in appropriate storage bags. I have had toys *melt* or bleed on to others in the past when I didn't take precautions. So that is something to keep in mind before you toss them all in there.

Here is my chest filled with floggers, paddle, crop, 3 strap-on harnesses, a blindfold, leash, and ballgag. I easily have enough additional room for at least 5 or 6 of my dildos also.

Now my playchest is stuffed with all my BDSM gear, especially with my strap-on harnesses and dildos. The key was confiscated by a nosy child, so now I just have to hide the entire chest! It's holding up well and I'm in it almost daily. It's definitely a favorite purchase of mine.
