Astroglide - lubricant discontinued by BioFilm - review by Hot'n'Bothered

Astroglide is a good water based lubricant that is good for anyone who needs a significant help in the wetness department. I wouldn't recommend it if you only need a little help.

I originally purchased this after I had a very scary sexual encounter with my husband. IE: I had recently given birth to our first child. At that moment I didn't know which was more traumatic, her birth or my first sexual experience following her birth.

It was apparent at that time I needed some serious help. And since I didn't want to be one of those women who use birth as an excuse to have a break from sex...off to the store I went.

Where I was presented with two (yes TWO), options:

Astroglide

and

KY

Having never had any experience with bottled lubes, it was a gamble as to which one would work for me. But I recalled hearing that KY was a fairly sticky consistency. So I went with the astroglide.

The first time we used it, I put it directly on my husbands penis. Perhaps I should have investigated the consistency before hand. Because we ended up using way too much, and finishing was impossible for both of us. But hey, it didn't hurt!

Astroglide is very slick, and almost too easy to pour. A little bit goes a very long way. I do not recommend this product if your only needing a little bit of help.

Because it is so thin, it doesn't stay in place. So the best way I found to use it was to dribble some onto my fingers, (or my husbands) and then rub them on the inside and outside of my vagina.

When rubbed between two fingers I find that the product thickens and becomes frothy/foamy and white.

We have never used this in a manner that that made any scents/flavors jump out. It's unflavored so I don't envision this as being a good product to work into oral play.

Once we figured out the appropriate amount to apply and how to apply it, this was a huge life saver for me. I always go wash up after sex and I did not find that using this made it any more difficult than when we didn't use it. My husband never complained either. I also never had any issues with it cleaning up off of the sheets. (Thank you water base!)

Application of too much would make the experience long and drawn out, and definitely anything but satisfying.

The bottle is small enough, so if you need it I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to travel with it. It's far from discreet though.
