Sassy - gel discontinued by Sliquid, LLC - review by kelly234

I was looking for a pretty standard lube that wouldn't irritate any of my sensitive areas and get the job done without any fancy bells and whistles. I don't need strawberry flavor, I don't need icy-hot. I grabbed the Sliquid Sassy Booty water-based lubricant because it's advertised just as that. I am also vegan and was looking for something animal-ingredient-free. This lubricant is glycerin, sulfates, and paraben-free, it's unscented, and it hasn't been tested on animals! It's also safe to be used vaginally and anally.

I've had bad experiences from lubricants before, and the short list of ingredients was a huge draw (Purified Water, Plant Cellulose, Polyquat 007, DMDM Hydantoin). Also--the hot pink packaging was a bit of a draw, I must admit.

This lube was non-irritating and of a good viscosity. It is fairly thick, which is great. Many water-based lubes are slightly runny. Though I haven't had issues with slops, the listing does say it won't stain clothes or sheets which is pretty grand. It also doesn't evaporate and disappear right after applying, which is a major con of some other water-based lubricants. It isn't advertised as edible, so it would probably be best to avoid ingesting it. It's also latex-friendly, so it can be used with condoms.

Though this lube is designed for anal play, it's also safe for use vaginally. When it dries, it isn't too sticky or hard to clean up. If used with toys, mild soap and water should do the trick!

The lid is a typical snap-up lid of poly bottles. Because this lubricant is fairly thick, you'll need to squeeze the bottle for the applicator to function. This is good as even if you tip the bottle over when the lid is snapped open, you aren't very likely to experience spillage...unless of course you tip it over and step on it.

I'm always going to prefer no lube when I have the option, but Sassy is my go-to for lube. It still holds up as one of the best lubricants I've ever used. It doesn't smell, it's not oily or greasy, and it's a good consistency.
