Astroglide - lubricant discontinued by BioFilm - review by givemeadayjaime

This is the first lube I ever bought as a teenager. I was fifteen and it was six bucks at Target. It seemed like a good deal at the time, but I eventually learned that all lubes are not created equal. Back then, I didn’t even know there were different bases. I thought you had your warming, your tingling, your massage, and your plain. I didn’t know there was water, or silicone, or even oil. So I bought this thinking it would work just fine. And that’s exactly what it did; it worked “just fine”. But I wanted something that worked great.

This lube spreads well, but it gets sticky after awhile and dries out. I have endometriosis, which prevents me from becoming very wet or even aroused. So in my case, things that dry out are not exactly a good option. Astroglide has some of the more “questionable” ingredients that are known to cause irritation, such as glycerin and aspartamine. I’ve never had a reaction to them, but your body may react differently. And no one wants to have an allergic reaction down there, right?

I think that this lube can do in a pinch, if you haven’t got anything else around and really need something. I wouldn’t really recommend it as your go-to product. I don’t like to waste things that I’ve spent hard-earned money on, so I still have my bottle. Mind you, there is less than 1/3 of it gone, which shows how often I use it. I mainly use it for handjobs. I take a tiny dab and rub in over his entire penis, then add a quarter-sized blob to my palm and stroke away. I usually have to add another blob about half-way through, but it works for getting him off.

All around I think I would only recommend this to someone who doesn’t have access to higher-end lubricants. It does the job, but it takes some work and sure is a pain in the process. If you’re willing to deal with it, go ahead and buy it. But I seriously recommend investing in something higher quality that will work better, and use less to save you money.
