What A Mess!

This product was an overall disappointment. Not the worst lubricant out there, but not something I would purchase again. It is condom-safe, and good for short-term use, but not recommended for the longer sessions.

The first lubricant I ever used was KY, as I am sure it was for many others. I recently switched over to ID Millennium, but when that ran out I grabbed some of this Astroglide. Astroglide is a water-based lubricant so it is safe for use with condoms and most sex toys. I’d heard of it many times before and assumed it would be just fine, but boy was I wrong.

Upon opening up the bottle I didn’t notice any sort of strange smell, and the texture of the product was alright, but boy did I have to use a lot of it! And even though it is water-based, it’s a pain in the rear (no pun intended) to get it out of the bottle because it leaves this stringy trail behind it. Definitely a three-handed job just to get it to dispense! After that hassle was over, when using it, it never seemed to be enough to really get me or my partner lubricated, requiring constant re-application. We found that if small amounts were applied it was simply absorbed by the body, and by the time we were done nearly half the bottle had been used. However, cleanup was a breeze and there was no strange film, residue or reaction to the product. Unfortunately we were left frustrated and exhausted from the hassle rather than the fun we should have been having.

It has been my experience that lubricants can bring a lot more sensation and pleasure to the bedroom, but Astroglide didn’t do this for me. I currently use and will continue to promote high-quality silicone lubricants. Although they are more expensive, you truly do only need a drop or two for long-lasting enjoyment. The money I saved on this lube was not worth the extensive time it took out of the bedroom.
Follow-up commentary
I ended up throwing out the Astroglide after writing this review, and I will never go back! I'm sure that there is a possibility that I just got a 'bad batch' but there are so many better water-based lubes out there, in my opinion.

    it is kinda stringy

Haha I am glad I'm not the only person that has noticed this. I was really surprised seeing as how it is a water-based lubricant, a stringy consistently is the last thing I expected.

I really do not like astroglide! Nice review, I'm new here too and I find the extended version of the review template works better for me. Maybe, try that for your next review

I've never really had an issue with Astroglide, but I tend to warm it up so that might have an effect on usage.

    Thanks for the review!

Keeshia: It never occurred to me to try and warm it up first, maybe that would make it less sticky.

Good review! I have had the exact same experience with the Astroglide and only keep it now for an emergency.

I've been so spoiled by EF that I've never used Astroglide. I've never heard good things about it though so I doubt I'll try it now.
    Nice review!

Oh that's alright... I'm addicted to my ID Millenium at the moment. I'm just glad that I didn't spend a lot on a product that, well.. Didn't do a lot.

I find it interesting how we don't know much about certain products that are being advertised on tv or in magazines. I always thought this might be an ok product bcs of the advertising but most if not all reviews say otherwise. Thanks for the review.
