Oscillating massager discontinued

Definitely nice, but don't expect a miracle...

The oscillations do feel quite nice, but I didn't find the feeling to be the huge difference I was expecting. The intensity of the toy helped me orgasm faster, but made it impossible to maintain contact during orgasm because of the extreme sensitivity. This is probably the most hideous looking sex toy ever. I feel completely unsexy while using it with my hubby and that makes me too distracted to be able to fully relax and enjoy myself. If you can get past that, you've got it made!

Pros
Very powerful. Oscillations somewhat different feeling than vibrations.
Cons
The fugliest sex toy ever made. Attachments too firm.

extremely useful review
First, let me say that I am writing this review based on only two out of the three head attachments that come with the Eroscillator. Why? Because when I went to try out the third one (the round bowl), it wouldn't snap in. When I looked at it, I saw it was cracked. EF did offer to replace the entire product, but between the time I contacted them and got everything worked out, one of my toddlers must have picked up the broken piece and I can't find it to send it back and have it replaced. Totally my fault...

So, here goes. I'm the type of woman who absolutely needs clitoral stimulation to reach orgasm. We've tried rings, with some success, and traditional vibrators, again with some success. I can generally "get there", but not always as quickly as my hubby (it does take me 15-20 minutes on average). I hate to admit it, but when I know he has already climaxed, I pretty much just don't feel like bothering anymore. So I was looking for a product that would really speed things up. I read and reread the reviews for this product and, although it is extremely pricey for me, I had to have it. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out to be the miracle product I had hoped for.

It arrived in a tasteful enough box although for the money, I guess I would have expected something sturdier and/or fancier for long-term storage. The Eroscillator and each of the three heads as well as the cord were enclosed separately in plastic. There was a booklet with instructions, raves and information from Dr. Ruth about how best to become orgasmic if you aren't already and how to improve things if you already have achieved orgasms. Not too much information there besides common sense stuff.

So on to my first impressions:
The pros - It has a ginormously long cord - around 12 feet, so finding an electrical outlet within range should be simple enough. I tested it to make sure it worked and just tried it on my hand and could tell a slight difference from regular vibration, but not a huge difference. Still, it was just my hand which is hardly all that sensitive, so I still had high hopes.

The cons - It's large. The main portion alone is 8" long and 1.5" in diameter. Plus add another 2.5"-3" for the head attachments. It's fairly heavy and bulky. It's hideous - the design is anything but attractive; they couldn't have picked an uglier color if they tried.

Sure, all that I could easily get past provided the actual functionality of the product was exceptional. So what happened?
Experience
The main feature of this toy is that it "oscillates" rather than "vibrates". The oscillation is supposed to feel amazingly different and prevent the "numbness" that frequently accompanies the use of traditional vibrators. It's simple to operate, providing three speeds to choose from. It has a large slider on one side that is used to turn it on and select a speed. Each notch that you slide it increases the speed by one level. The medium speed is about what most vibrators reach at their highest level. The high speed is very powerful. It's a bit buzzy when you turn it on, but when actually using it, it's surprisingly quiet.

The first time we used it, I was thoroughly disappointed. First, let me clarify that it does feel nice and there is somewhat of a difference between this and traditional vibrators. The oscillations feel "deeper" and "rumbly" like a classic car engine. After awhile, the sensations still become somewhat dull for me, although maybe not quite to the point of numbness like most vibrators. I used it while my hubby and I had sex and truthfully, I think my mentality was a lot of the problem. I felt like an idiot. The thing looks like some kind of horrible torture device. I felt anything but sexy using it while he was watching and the distraction led to my complete inability to enjoy it. Sure, I got there eventually - no faster than any other time - and the orgasm was no different than any other. Still, we tried it several other times, hoping that was just a fluke. I admit that part of my problem is that I went into it with my expectations too high, expecting a miracle.

The main product is hard plastic while the heads are a slightly softer, yet still very firm, material. The one head has a "grape cluster" on one side and a "cockscomb" on the other. The grape cluster was okay. The cockscomb I do not like at all. The other head I was able to try is the oval spoon one. It has some slight depth to it like a spoon on one side and some nubs on the other. I like this one better, but the firmness just ends up being somewhat uncomfortable after awhile. I want to try the soft fingertip attachment (sold separately) hoping the cushioning will make the difference, but $32 for an attachment piece is pretty darn expensive.

The medium setting gets me to climax, but it takes as long as any other vibrator and the orgasm is no different. The high setting makes it happen faster that most other toys (although still not as fast as I had hoped). The problem is that the oscillations / vibrations are so intense, as soon as I start to orgasm, my clitoris immediately becomes incredibly sensitive and it's too uncomfortable to keep the Eroscillator in contact, therefore cutting my orgasm short.

It is still definitely worth trying out once you owned your fair share of traditional vibrators. When I have money, I will get the other attachment and hope that solves the main issues I am having with this product.
Follow-up commentary
I really really tried to like this product. We tried it numerous times and I just can't seem to enjoy it. Sure, I get there. But not any faster than with pretty much any other vibrator I've owned. The vibrations are deeper and more rumbly than traditional vibrators, but it doesn't do any more for me. I think a lot of it has to do with the hard attachments. They do have a silicone feel - they aren't plastic. But they are hard. And it feels rough against tender, sensitive areas and ends up leaving me feel uncomfortable afterward. I would like to try the fingertip attachment, but at $40, it's just too expensive. I feel that should come with the product to begin with, as much as the original product cost. And I still have been unable to get past how incredibly stupid I feel using it with my husband. He called it an "artifact" and something "American Pickers" would find in their hunting for antique items. It's so ugly and bulky. And combined with what I mentioned above, I am thoroughly disappointed in this product and will be officially retiring it to the unused toy box.

Nice review boomer. My wife's like you needing clitoral. Thanks for the info. I think we'll get one eventually but it sounds like it's just a nicer toy not something revolutionary. If you had the amount of money you spent on this toy, what would you spend it on instead?

Brian, you are exactly right. While it is somewhat different, it's not the monumental difference I was expecting. For me, the embarrassment I feel using it because it's so damn ugly cancels out the slightly different sensation. I'm still eventually planning to get the fingertip attachment and see if that makes a difference, but I'm not counting on it.

I have a slew of vibrators and eventually, they all kind of get to be the same - only slightly different shape or color. If you're looking for something for your wife specifically for a clitoral stimulator, I do have a few suggestions of toys I come back to repeatedly. These are ones that have stood out among my collection and that I haven't retired to the box of unused toys.

If you want a bullet for the small size and convenience, the Le Reve bullet is a winner. It's very powerful, 3 speeds and super cute. And it's only around $19.00. A traditional vibrator that is a good choice if you want power, is the MiniVibe Spring. Bigger than a bullet, but smaller than most vibrators. It's very powerful and has several patterns. I have a few issues with it, but it's one I definitely will use often. Plus it's rechargable with the new click n' charge technology, so no more throwing money away on batteries. And it's really cute, too! It's around $73.

One I really like that isn't currently in stock is the Pure Bendie 10-function. It's huge which was kind of a turn-off at first, but the super soft material is very interesting. It's very powerful, has a lot of patterns to the vibration, too. And it's bendable, so you can kind of lay it and bend it into position - makes it fun and unique!

I have had this toy on my wish list for a while but like you, wonder if it can possible live up to the hype (and wish the marshmallow attachment came with!) Sorry it's not what you hoped for. Thanks for the review!

Excellent review. Sorry that you couldn't get better use from this. It's definitely a love it or hate it toy from all the reviews I've read. generally I think it's a good toy but not worth the money or the hype it gets but for some it's brilliant.

Thanks for the review. This helps! I'm struggling to decide if this would be different enough to be worth the huge investment (everyone seems to agree that the softip is a must). Sounds like it might not be.
