Eros: An Ancient Word For Love/Desire

Sometimes I don't always appreciate living in this age, but this toy does help, because otherwise I would never have experienced its truly unique kind of stimulation. It reaches deep and brings many an orgasm to the surface, something no other toy has been able to do for me.

Use

The Eroscillator is a unique sex toy designed specifically for stimulating the clitoris. It's unique because it doesn't vibrate - it oscillates. This means that it goes back and forth very rapidly, creating an amazing sensation that no other toy has (to my knowledge) successfully replicated.

A few extra fun facts regarding my title. Eros is indeed one of four ancient Greek words for 'love'. Specifically, it refers to romantic/sexual love. Eros is also the name of the Greek god of love; Cupid being his Roman counterpart. I find this rather interesting because the toy has a kind of ancient look to it. Steampunk also comes to mind. A lot of people think the Eroscillator is 'ugly', but I love metallic colors, so its shimmery bronze coupled with its old-world charm make it beautiful in this history/fantasy nerd's eyes.

Material / Texture

The body of the Eroscillator is made of plastic, while the three attachments that it comes with are composed of TPR. The Eroscillator website claims that all attachments are phthalates and PVC free. Still, this means that they are slightly porous and thus cannot be fully sterilized. For this reason, I wouldn't recommend sharing your Eroscillator with someone that you're not fluid-bonded with.

Design / Shape / Size

The Eroscillator comes with three attachments, each having two sides with different textures, giving you six different options to choose from. Unfortunately, I don't really like any of these attachments. They are not very soft (though they do flex a little), and that combined with the fast back-and-forth motion is just too much for my clitoris. Though if you don't mind firmness and texture, you may like them. Personally, I much prefer the Ultra Soft Fingertip attachment, which is sadly sold separately. It's squishy and soft, making the perfect platform for transmitting the oscillations. Also, it's much quieter in my unit than the original three attachments are. I have no idea why this is, but the original three sound like they are rattling around, while the Ultra Soft Fingertip is nearly silent. I've read other reviews though that say it's louder while the original attachments are quiet, so my guess is that it varies from unit to unit.

The unit itself, without an attachment, is 8 inches long with a circumference of 4.75 inches. The spiral going down the shaft makes it easy to grip.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Eroscillator is in a word, awesome. In another word, incredible. If you like unique toys and sensations, I definitely recommend this one. Keep in mind though, it feels more delicate than a vibrator, but it's just as (if not more) effective. It also is not numbing at all, so this is the only toy that I currently have which allows me to have more than one orgasm at a time. It feels extra great when using a g-spot toy at the same time.

As for the controls, the Eroscillator has three power levels, operated by a slide switch. It's straightforward and simple to use. It gets a little louder with each power level, but I never go past the second setting, which is still nearly silent (again, depending on the attachment, as described above).

The Eroscillator is operated with a plug-in power cord that is detachable from the unit. The hole on the bottom where it plugs in is the only place on the unit that can't get wet. So you can carefully rinse the unit, but be extra careful not to get water on/in the bottom!

Care and Maintenance

The Eroscillator isn't too difficult to care for. You don't really need to clean the unit each time you use it, but you should clean the attachment each time. Antibacterial soap and water will get the job done nicely. Rubbing alcohol can be used periodically if you want to make them as clean as humanly possible. As for the unit, like mentioned above, it can be carefully rinsed as long as you don't get water into the cord port on the bottom. If you don't want to risk getting it near a sink, a toy wipe will work just fine.

Packaging

The Eroscillator came in a maroon-colored box. Nothing too special, but I'd say it's classy enough for a gift and functional enough for storage. Detailed instructions are included.

Experience

The first few times I tried this toy, I was kind of underwhelmed. If you feel this way, I recommend trying it more times even if you don't necessarily feel like it. It's like your body needs to get used to the different kind of sensation for maximum benefit. At least that's the only way I can think of to explain it, because the more often I used it, the more awesome it felt. So don't feel discouraged at first if it doesn't feel very exciting; more practice may be all that's required.
