Wisconsin Judge Phillip Kirk bit off a big ol' bite of shoe leather at the sentencing of a 71-year-old pedophile who pleaded no contest to charges of molesting four boys during 2006 to 2010. The judge made some comments that gay rights advocates are saying were in poor taste.
It seems in the acknowledgment of his crimes, Delton Gorges wrote that he is heterosexual. Judge Kirk took issue with that.
“I think you were born gayer than a sweet smelling jock strap,” Judge Kirk told Gorges. “I think that if anyone believes that in the last 10 years or 15 years all of a sudden you developed an interest in homosexuality and young boys, then I must have looked ravishing in my prom dress this year.”
Advocacy groups took issue with Kirk’s comments, noting that there is no correlation between homosexuality and pedophilia.
