Vamp - strap-on dildo by Tantus - review by bumblebeemouth

I love this toy. I used it with my bullet vibe on my clit and swirled it in circles while my hips moved up and down. I think this toy is good for a quickie, you can lock yourself in your bedroom for a few minutes while the kids are watching TV and put a smile on your face.

The base is flared for anal use, but for me, I'm a little nervous about how flexible it is, so I won't be using the Vamp for anal. The base also makes it O-ring compatible, so it's good for gender play or pegging.

The material does retain temperatures very well. If you wanted the authentic vampire experience, you could run it under cold water, or even put it in your fridge. Room temp is actually pretty good for a different change of pace. It's cool enough to make you notice the temperature difference, but warm enough that it doesn't shock you.

I've been on the search for an adequate silicone toy for awhile now. I had a double ended jelly toy up until about a year ago, when it started to crack. I immediately threw it away, knowing that those cracks would harbor bacteria. It took me awhile to go from paying the low price for the jelly toys to the higher price for the silicone toys. I always hated how scented jelly toys are, and was so pleasantly surprised that this has no odor. I did a lot of research and decided to try a toy from Tantus because of their medical grade silicone. I love that it can be boiled to sanitize it, so it's good for sharing, or anal use. The idea of using a condom with a toy is really off-putting. I hate that silicone is so clingy to lint though, that is my only complaint about the material. It's very flexible, I can bend it in half, but it's also firm enough to ride.

The size is a very good fit for me. I'm not a size queen by any definition. The size of the Vamp does vary from the sizes listed on the site. I measured it and this is what I got:

The Vamp has a very pronounced head, which makes it good for g-spotting. I will say that at particular angles, it did get caught on my pelvic bone which was a real eye opener. Something I noticed was that if you wet a flat surface, and wet the base of the Vamp, it becomes a semi-suction cup. It slides around on the surface, but doesn't come up. I haven't tried riding it like this yet, but it was a good discovery today when I washed it. I liked that I could slap it down on the counter while I washed other toys, and I didn't have to worry about it picking up lint or any germs from anything. The flared base does make it o-ring compatible, and you should be able to use it for anal, though the base is very flexible and would make me nervous. The sparkle/shimmer in this toy is VERY subtle, or at least it was in the one I received. It's not blatantly out there that it's sparkly, so if someone knows about the Vamp, but hasn't seen it, they wouldn't know this one was the Vamp.

As I mentioned earlier in the review, I was able to keep the Vamp secured to the counter after washing by lightly wetting the surface of the counter, and the base of the Vamp. I haven't tried to see if it's secure enough to ride like a suction cup, but it was a nice discovery.

Being made of silicone makes the Vamp very easy to care for. It can be washed with warm water and antibacterial soap, sanitized in bleach, boiling water or on the top rack of the dishwasher (with no soap). It can only be used with a water based lube, if you're unsure of what type your lube is, test it on the underside of the base, so you don't ruin your toy on accident. I store my Vamp in the package that it came in to keep it from attracting every dust bunny in the house, but it's still always a good idea to wash it thoroughly before using it.

Packaging is not discreet at all, you can see the Vamp through the packaging. I have to admit, the site is something to behold and made me very excited to run and try it immediately. The packaging isn't super sturdy, and the clam shell that it came with seemed mismatched. It was almost as if it wasn't the right size for the Vamp (too small), so I threw it out. I use the outer packaging to store the Vamp for now, but I'll eventually have to get something else because the Vamp will outlast the packaging.

All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase of the Vamp. I'm glad that I made the leap to silicone toys and that I did so with this particular toy. I was really worried about the size, it is a little longer than I'm used to, but I foresee enjoying the Vamp for a long time.
