Ami is meant to be a vaginal exerciser. It is made to tone and strengthen your PC muscles, which can help you enjoy sex more, prepare for pregnancy, recover from pregnancy, help during menopause, improve bladder control, and it is generally supposed to be good for you. There are three exercisers in this kit so you can strengthen your muscles at different levels and move up the ladder. They also have balls inside them that jiggle and add interesting sensations. You are supposed to insert them with a lot of lube and go about your day for a little bit with them inside, or try to do some exercise techniques (2 are in the booklet that come with Ami).

So come, young, old, and anyone who wants to improve their sex life, or get extra ready for childbirth or large life changes. However, only use it vaginally and don't try to put it anywhere else (like your butt) because it's not meant for that.

Ami is made of very soft, smooth silicone (safety rating = 10!). It is non-porous and hypoallergenic, as well as latex and phthalates free. I also noticed no odor at all when opening the box. The silicone is soft and can be squeezed a little, and you can shake the weights inside to hear them a bit. This silicone is really nice to touch but has a bit of drag, so to make it less draggy, you can always use some lube (you should use lots of lube for this exerciser anyway). This silicone also doesn't seem to attract particles as much as other silicone toys. Remember to only use water-based lubricants with this toy because it is made of silicone, and silicone lubes can ruin silicone toys.

The design of each Ami is different, although they are all dark purple and have pretty sturdy 3-inch retrieval loops. I really like the design of the Ami; they look sleek and simple. I also like the variety they choose to please users of different levels and body shapes. You might not want to travel with all 3 but it would be quiet easy to pop one in a plastic bag and put it in before going out and then take it out in a restroom when you tire of it.

Ami 1 is a large soft ball, which is the lightest (it is 1 1/2 inches across). It is the squishiest one. It weighs 1.9 oz. This one is a little large but with a lot of lube it can be inserted. The ball inside this one moves a lot, which is really cool. However, it is the lightest of the lot, so after a while it might be best to move on. This one is my favorite because it is very simple.

Ami 2 is a medium sized double ball exerciser (1 1/4 at its widest, 3 inches long). It is a little heavier than the first Ami but still has some give. It weighs 2.5 oz. This one is easier to insert because it is slimmer but also a little difficult because of the squish room between the two balls. I also noticed less moving of the internal balls in this one, and I could definitely tell it was heavier.

Ami 3 is smaller with two connecting balls as well (1 1/10 inches across at its widest, 2 3/4 inches long). It is heavier and has the least give of all 3. It weighs 3.5 oz. This one is small and looks easy to insert but the weight has intimidated me from using it so far. I hope to someday.

The Ami exercisers can be used in two ways. You can insert the toy (with generous amounts of lube) and simply go about your day. It will trigger your muscles to squeeze and tighten as you move around and walk. They can then be worn for as long as you want or until you feel any discomfort. They also tend to jiggle around, especially with more vigorous activity, like running, jumping, and so on. This can be pleasurable for some.

They can also be used to do the exercises mentioned in the book, that involve squeezing your PC muscles at different increments. Some people (like myself) are bad at/dislike following some written directions so this might not be done effectively.

The 3-piece set also allows you to switch to whichever size you are comfortable with. This can help some people get further than they would if they were using other vaginal exercisers that only come in one weight or are only one size.

As for if they actually do work in their intentioned way, I cannot answer. I started using these for a few weeks and I think the guy I was dating noticed a little, but then I stopped using them because I didn't quite understand how they were working, and I could never find a good time to wear them.

This toy is relatively easy to take care of. You can wash it with soap and water, or sanitize it by boiling it (but for no more than 20 seconds). Then you can store it in the box that it came in because it has cute slots for each Ami and a ribbon to tie the box shut.

However, remember, when using lube, only use water-based lube for Ami because they are silicone and you do not want to ruin the silicone with either silicone or oil based lubricant.

I don't remember the exact packaging but I just wanted to mention the box the Ami came in because it is so cool-looking. It's black, sturdy, with three slots inside shaped like the three toys. If you lift the tab under them, you can find the info booklet. You should definitely read this. It has info on all 3 Ami along with some exercises and recommendations. The box closes and can be tied with the black ribbon on the outside. The only thing on the outside of the box is Je Joue's label. This is a great storage box; it's really cute, and people hopefully won't guess what's inside.

I tried using these a while ago and had some fun with Ami 1 and 2. After a while I couldn't find time to wear them and I did not use them long enough to have a huge effect. Just remember to use lots of lube with these toys; it makes them much easier to take out.
