Leaf's Life is a lovely green rechargeable vibrator with a 100% silicone finish covering its PowerBullet core. Small, discreet and waterproof, this toy can tickle your erogenous zones in or out of water. Though because of it's size/design, this toy is for external stimulation only and is not meant to be inserted.

Life is covered in 100% body-safe silicone, which rates a 10 on Eden's material safety scale. Silicone is non-porous, hypo-allergenic, latex and phthalates free. There is a fair bit of drag to the toy and it also attracts lint and hair like nobody's business. It's also virtually texture-free, aside from a faint seam all around the toy (which I can barely feel by hand), the Leaf logo stamp on the front, PowerBullet stamp on the bottom along with some small markings below this which the booklet states that the company was required to include on the toy.

Though the toy is firm and rigid, there is a small amount of silicone at the tip and base which the inner PowerBullet does not extend into. These roughly half inch sections are bendable and flexible due to only being silicone. There is also no taste to the toy, and only a faint "new silicone toy" smell right out of the box. Life also appears not to hold onto smells as well.

Leaf's Life looks exactly as such, a leaf. The toy is ergonomically shaped to allow a finger to rest on top of the point and curve down the finger and hand with the base resting in the middle of the palm. It can also be held like a pen with the base resting comfortably between the thumb and index fingers. The size and shape is suitable for any user and is very easy to hide inside the included drawstring pouch. Life also has a "travel lock" which prevents the toy from accidentally being turned on which makes it very easy to travel with. The design is also discreet enough where the toy isn't immediately identified as a sex toy.

Life only has one (barely noticeable) button which makes it very easy to use. To turn on, simply click the button, which will illuminate green when on. Hold the button down for three seconds to increase to the next level of vibration. Continue doing so, or simply hold the button in, to reach the highest power level or any in between. The light will blink as it escalates in power and will glow steadily when the highest level is reached. To shut off, simply click the button once and off it goes. There are five vibration levels and no patterns to the toy. There is also no memory, so the toy will always start at the lowest level. You also cannot decrease the power once it has reached the top, only shutting it off and turning it back on will give you access to the lowest levels again.

In the hand, and out in the open, the toy isn't any louder than your average cell phone vibrations. It cannot be heard through bed covers or a closed door. I've also used this with an open door, a running ceiling fan and a TV on low with another person a few rooms away watching TV. They could not hear this and I could barely hear it on high over the ambient noise while I had the toy inside my pants (or even when I pulled it out). So yes, this thing is pretty quiet. The sound does dampen somewhat with pressure (as does the vibration power). The vibrations can be felt through the entire toy, from point to base. Though I felt they were a little more intense right in the middle of the bottom where the PowerBullet sits inside.

To charge, insert the jack on the cord into the charging port on the bottom of the toy. While charging, a red light will appear over the charging port which will shut off when the toy is fully charged. The first time I charged the Life only took an hour and a half, recharging should only take as long as well. The booklet also states that since this toy has no memory, Life's battery doesn't need to be fully exhausted before charging.

Life is completely waterproof and safe to use in and near water (though you should never charge it in or near water). The toy also has a "travel lock" to prevent it from accidentally being turned on. To activate, simply press the power button three times quickly. Perform three quick clicks again to unlock the toy.

Being waterproof and covered in 100% silicone, Life is very easy to care for and clean. Simply suds up with soap and water and towel off or air dry. The booklet advises against using alcohol or benzene to clean it, as these could damage the toy. If you plan on sharing Life, slip it into a condom. Also, only use water-based lube with the product and avoid storing it against other silicone toys to prevent damage. Since this is an electronic toy, do not boil or place in the dishwasher.

Life is easily stored in the included drawstring pouch. The pouch is much larger than the actual toy, so there is room for the charger, as well as a small bottle of water-based lube if you wish.

Leaf's Life comes in a lovely and sturdy cardboard box that closes magnetically. The outside is tan with the Leaf logo on the front, along with the name of the toy, Leaf Vibes website address and a statement that the toy is 100% silicone finished. The bottom has a simple illustration of the toy and some brief information about it. On the side of the box is another brief list of the toy's information in English and several other languages. The outside of the box is not terribly discreet. Inside, the box is darker brown and houses the user manual, storage pouch, toy and charger. The user manual appears very long, but the English portion is only a few pages. Inside is general operating, charging and care information for the toy.

Because the toy comes with a drawstring pouch, I do not personally use the box for storage of the toy. But the entire packaging is sturdy, lovely and would make a nice gift.

The title says it all: "Life without Parole". Legally, getting life without parole isn't a good thing, and sadly, that's how I feel about this toy. I had lusted after the Life intensely ever since it was added to Eden and after finally being able to afford it, I'm sadly disappointed.

While I agree that this is a nifty looking toy (it's GREEN!, can't say that I've seen too many green colored toys around) and it fits so nicely in my hand, this thing just doesn't do it for me. After many uses, Life has yet to get me off (even when I was highly aroused). I pleaded with it, heck, even demanded that it work, to no avail. Am I slowly joining the Clit o' Steel brigade? Is that why this isn't working for me? Perhaps.

Power-wise, I feel this is only a three vroom. Three vrooms do nothing for me. I read somewhere that to get an idea of how a toy will feel down south, hold it to the tip of your nose. I seriously do this with each and every single vibe I get. In the hand and to the tip of the nose, Life feels quite powerful. But applying it to my clit barely does anything. I tried using the pin-pointed tip and nothing. The broader base, nothing. I held it as I do MiMi and regular bullets (as I would a nail polish brush), nothing. I tried using more of the bottom right where the PowerBullet sits, I pressed it firmly against my clit, I massaged my clit with it and still absolutely nothing. Every single time I tried using this, I ended up reaching for my MiMi in frustration.

Speaking of MiMi, I only consider that toy a four vrooms and wish it was a bit stronger. I used it immediately after Life (sometimes switching back and forth) and to me, MiMi is quite a bit stronger.

In all honesty, I don't think Life is worth its hefty price tag. Especially for a toy with no patterns, quite a bit of drag, and not enough power for us Clit o' Steel gals (or those nearing that). If you've got the funds, don't care for patterns at all and don't need a lot of power, the Life might be your best friend. For me, I was expecting this to rock my world and what I got was barely a tremor. Life without parole indeed.
