The Shunga massage candle comes in many scents. We chose the fruit scent. The candle is supposed to be used as an aromatic massage oil once it has been lit. It comes in a beautiful tin with a small spoon inside, to be used to pour the melted wax over your partners body. This is a soy based candle, so check the ingredients in case of allergy. This candle burns at a lower temperature, so it is safe to use the oil on the body. Be careful and wait a few extra seconds after blowing it out so you don't shock your partner. This candle is great for any couple looking to add a new element to a sensual massage.

The melted oil is very slick and smooth. It's glides onto the skin and soaks in beautifully. However, when it absorbs in it starts to leave a slight waxy look and feel to the skin. After a shower it leaves the skin so soft its delightful. One word of caution, be sure to blow it out and wait about a minute for it to cool just a bit; if you pour it directly after it is a tad too hot.

This is not an edible product, but it has a very nice aroma. We chose the fruit scented and it smelled like a delicious, warm fruit punch without the sugary smell. The candle scent fills the area even before it is lit, so you want to consider this when storing it. We put ours in a plastic bag and that works just fine. Once lit, the scent fills the room within minutes. Combine the scent with the romantic flicker of the flame and you have a lovely backdrop for romance. The scent does linger into the later part of the next day, but for us it's so pleasant we don't mind.

We have used this candle twice now and it seems to have barely been used. We will probably get at least 8 more full body massages left. If you leave it on, the waxy look will go away after some time, but you will smell like the fruit scent until you fully wash it off. The scent does rub off into linens or clothes, but it does not stain. We love the silky way our skin feels afterward and the scent. It just heightens the experience of the romantic sensual massage.

The candle is inside a beautiful tin with Japanese erotic art on it, so it may not be something you want to leave out. It came in a plastic bag, to keep the lid on, I'm guessing, and keep the scent in during shipping. I wouldn't travel with this because the lid does not fit super tight, and the scent is strong so everything you pack with it will smell the same.
