Use

Toyfluid by Fun Factory is a water-based lubricant that was designed specifically with the company's high-quality silicone toys in mind. Since silicone toys can be damaged by silicone-based lubricants, Toyfluid is a perfect alternative. This lube is compatible with toys of any brand, model, or material. It is also ideal for vaginal intercourse with a partner, since it is safe to use with condoms and holds up well to the friction of intimate activities. I would not recommend this lubricant for anal or oral sex, since it's somewhat thin and runny and doesn't taste very pleasant. A thicker lube might serve better for anal sex and a flavored lube might serve better for oral.

Additionally, if you are a woman who is prone to yeast infections, you may want to consider using a different lubricant. This one contains glycerin, which can trigger symptoms or agitate existing yeast infections. However, it is L-Arginine, petro-chemicals, and paraben free.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This water-based lube is often compared to silicone-based lubricants in feel. I don't think there's any comparison. To me, silicone lubricants feel oily and artificial. Toyfluid feels very similar to my favorite, stand-by lube - another water-based gem - ID Glide. Both have a wonderful, natural feel to them. They feel thick, silky, and slippery, providing the perfect amount of slickness to reduce the friction of masturbation or sex without being goopy or greasy. Unfortunately, as Toyfluid dries, it becomes decidedly sticky and tacky. In time, any water-based lubricant will dry out. This one lasted as long as can be expected, but not quite as long as I had hoped, requiring one reapplication during each of my sessions.

Taste / Aroma

At first taste, there is a sharp tang to it, but it fades away quickly. Even so, I definitely would choose a nice fruity-flavored lubricant for oral sex and save this one for use with my toys. There is also a slight odor to this lubricant which I find a little bit off-putting. The closest thing I can equate it to is a very faint smell of rubbing alcohol and...something else. It's not terribly strong, but it does linger. I've washed my hands and it's been about half an hours since I used it and I still have the smell of it on my fingers when I put them to my nose. I much prefer lubricants that truly are odorless.

Performance

While I don't find that this lubricant lasts as long as my favorite ID Glide, it did last through my 20-30 minute long sessions, with just one small reapplication. Unless you want to be left with a dry, sticky residue, you should definitely wash off after using this lube. You can simply rinse it away with water, wipe it up, or use soap and water, toy cleaner, or wipes. It is very easy to clean up. I feel that it must have absorbed into my skin a little bit, since it now feels soft and powdery and the smell of the lubricant is lingering.

Packaging

Toyfluid comes in an elegant, sleek silver bottle, with a pump top and a clear plastic cap. The pump dispenser is a wonderful idea to replace flip-up or push-down lid designs, but it can still be a little cumbersome when you're in the heat of the moment. The bottle itself doesn't provide any traction as it is completely smooth. Like the pump dispenser, this is also something of a downfall when your hands are all lubed up. The packaging is attractive and discreet. It would easily blend in among a shelf full of beauty products. The pump locks to prevent accidental dispensing and with the lid in place this bottle should be perfectly suitable for travel.

The ingredients are listed as follows: Aqua, Glycerin, Ethoxydiglycol, Hydropropyl Guar Hydroxypropultrimonium Chloride, Hydroxypropylcellulose, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Benzyl Alcohol / Methylisothiazolinone/ Methylchloroisothiazolinone.

Personal comments

Fun Factory toys come with a small sample size of Toyfluid lubricant. The sample sachet contains 0.136 fluid ounces of lube, which lasted me through three whole solo sessions. This stands to reason that a 3.4 fl. oz. bottle of Toyfluid would last me through about 75 solo sessions! With a shelf life of approximately two years and at only 12.99 a bottle (or about $0.17 an orgasm for me!), this is a pretty decent value for a great personal lubricant. I'm not sure anything can permanently replace my ID Glide, but this stuff is an excellent stand-in if need be!
Follow-up commentary
I will still happily use my Toyfluid in a pinch, but I much prefer my new favorites, V Ultra Sensitive and Maximus. Fun Factory toys now come with an even smaller little sample of Toyfluid, in a newly redesigned square packet. I particularly love having these small packets on hand for playtime on the go. They're the perfect size for a solo session with any one of my toys.
