A Little Taste of What You May Have Missed...

Alicia: …there's never really been a porn movie before that I actually wanted to discuss afterwards. My husband and I actually talked about this and it was pretty cool. I agree with a poster above who said it's a film you need to watch for the artsy-ness and have the sex come secondary, makes it easier to follow that way!
Tabitha Stevens: Gary and I agree. It was VERY HARD to produce this film because it's so outside the box. But it's like watching a David Lynch film, you either love the messiness or you hate it.

Tuesday: I saw it [suspension via metal hooks]. I was hoping they'd show how that scene was filmed. A fake skin suit?
Gary Orona: Nope, real deal. Tabitha actually hung from her flesh. Even the ‘E Channel!’ was there to document it.

Victoria: Tabitha and Gary, what film are you working on now / might you work on next?
Tabitha Stevens: We just finished Official Friday the 13th Parody for Zero Tolerance and we are currently shooting Psycho.

Gary: Was there any Phantom of the Opera influence in Marcelus's character?
Gary Orona: Gary, now you're on to something! Marcellus is my favorite character. He's in all of us. He's EGO. That thing inside us all that would drive us into the ground for things of no value whatsoever. He's the Demon, he's that which controls us in a world of Illusions. Tabitha's fight with Marcellus is the ultimate battle. It's all of us fighting our inner selves. Sanatorium is incredibly deep on many layers. You have to watch it over and over to figure it out. It's embedded with symbols, metaphors, etc. etc. A wicked little smile…

Victoria: I think it [the scene with the shooting of the young girl in the desert] was a visual comment on snuff films.
Tabitha Stevens: Why is violence so often linked with sex? We're brain washed to say, "sex and violence". Why? That's why it's in the film.

Love Buzz: I feel that Sanatorium kind of bridges this gap, it was one of my favorite aspects of the film, it was porn but with a plot, one that you slowly reveal more of with each viewing.
Gary Orona: I've been fighting this battle for years. Trying to get studios to give me the green light on REAL movies with REAL sex... finally I gave up pitching it and Tabitha and I just went out and did it with our own money, result…Sanatorium.
