Bringing a sacred touch to your sex life

First let me tell you about sacredness. This term can be use quite broadly to describe something that is true, deeply felt, divine, filled with respect and wonder. In short and in my terms, something sacred is something that has a sense of true presence and consciousness. If you bring pure presence and consciousness into something, like a moment or a sexual play by example, you can make it sacred.

But sacred doesn't mean necessarily serious. There are many tantric rituals that bring sacredness as well as playfulness in the bedroom, either if you are with a partner or if you are without.

Both with or without partner you can consecrate the moment, the play, the personal exploration, masturbation or love making session. This means that you take a moment to welcome all that is to happen and offer all the energy created for the grater good, for the benefit of all beings.
Make of your playful exploration a sacred ritual.
Before starting any exercise or exploratory practice, take the time to install an intention and drop within yourself by bringing awareness in the present moment. Light candles, put yourself at ease, create a comfortable and inviting space. Breathe into the area of your body where you want to bring your consciousness. You can dedicate your practice to someone, to a cause or a wish dear to your heart. You can even call Shiva or Shakti which are the divine cosmic accomplices (Shiva is the pure masculine principle and Shakti is the pure feminine principle), to join you and support you.
It is the merging of the two entities, male and female, physical, mental and spiritual fusion, which allows access to the supreme energy, consciousness and serenity. Make that moment a sacred moment, a gift to yourself, avoid all external stimuli and let your daily thoughts, worries and stress aside.
Conclude each exercise by an awareness phase, to integrate the generated energy, to absorb it smoothly, to let it drop in and penetrate your whole being.

Here are a few you can do with a partner:

1. Transfiguration: look into each other's eyes for at least 5 minutes. Focus on one pupil and bring youreself to see the pure feminine or masculine essence emanating from the other. Look at the internal and external beauty of your partner beyond his/her personality.
2. Eat chocolates off each other's bodies.
3. Massage and/or scrub each other, wash each other's bodies and hair
4. Dance for each other
5. Meditate together
6. Roleplay for each other, play with sexual polarities, being interchangeably submissive and dominant.


Use your imagination to create your own plays and rituals. There are no limits to this!
