Good Looking--but not for me

The Smart Balls look great, feel great, sounds like a great idea and was a very tempting buy. But I couldn't help but be slightly disappointed because I couldn't get them to work for me. The size of these balls were much too big for me--either that or I wasn't experienced enough for them.

Because I could not for the life of me get this into my vagina, I cannot say what the best way to use this toy. I spent in total an hour or two trying to get this toy in, multiple tries.

I would definitely advise against using this toy for any sort of anal insertion. There isn't a flared base and the little loop used to pull the toy back out again might not be strong enough for that sort of activity.

Please, when you're inserting this, only go as far as you can bear. If it starts hurting, Stop. Give yourself a break and a little more practice--that's what I need.

The Smart balls are coated with elastomed--not as silky smooth as silicone can be and, on the ranking Edenfantasys has, not as safe either, but still very easy to clean and not terribly rigid feeling though it feels rather sturdy. The surface is smooth and almost has a bit of traction to them (even more reason to apply lube before insertion). The ridges on the smart balls look and feel pretty cool in your hands, but I didn't feel anything from them when I had them inserted. The texture in of itself is good for either beginners or advanced users.

I could feel the little balls inside rolling and bouncing around when I was playing with the Smart Balls in my hand. As I could not get the balls fully inserted, I cannot say if I felt the vibrations from the inner balls when the Smart Balls were inserted.

I didn't notice any outright smells when I pulled the Smart Balls out of their packaging and once I sprayed them with my toy cleaner, its smell was the only thing I could make out.

I really liked how the Smart Balls look. First off, talk about color choices! I love the variety that they have with the colors. I almost went for raspberry-pistachio but gave in to violet-vanilla instead. For shape, the Smart Balls are almost a severe hourglass shape--though with oblong balls rather than triangles. Then there are 3 ridges that differ from the base color of the ball running vertically on each of the smart balls. These are something I wouldn't be terribly frightened of leaving around in my dorm room. I could say they were...well, I could say they were just a random campus give-out of some sort. A key chain? The shape looks rather nice and looks like it would feel snug. The only complaint I have about this toy is its sheer size.

The length of the Smart Balls are 4.5" and I could only get half of it in. The diameter of the Smart Balls are also really surprising--giving the toy a circumference of 4.5" as well. It took a decent dollop of my water-based lube to insert even one ball in.

Travel-wise, this baby's easy. Just put them in a bag and drop them in your bag! You can even just keep them in the package and use that as their carrying box.

When it comes to taking care of your Smart Balls, since they are made of elastomed, which is non-porous, you can clean them with warm water and anti-bacterial soap, or a toy cleaner. Pat it dry with a lint-free towel or cloth--I don't think you want lint to catch on this toy before insertion--and put it somewhere lint free to store. I would actually recommend that package that it came in for storage!

Also because this toy is made of elastomed, the Smart Balls are compatible with either water-based or silicone-based lubes. I think it also came with a sample of a silicone-based lube. I would highly recommend the use of lube when playing with this exerciser.

This toy's packaging was very pretty. The box is glossy and colorful---not garish and without flamboyant pictures on the front to give away the purpose of the Smart Balls. There are two magnetized flaps on the front of the box that open up to reveal a little window so that you can look at the toy.

Inside, the toy sits snugly and prettily inside of a plastic shell shaped especially for it. This plastic shell and pretty box make for very good storage for the Smart Balls.

I thought the best thing about this toy--well, the best thing was its look. This is due to the the part of the toy that I thought wasn't too great: its size. The size of these Smart Balls (and perhaps my inexperience) led to me not being able to insert and thus actually use them in the way they were intended to be used. I kind of wish they made these in sizes. Wouldn't it be great if they could work for everyone?
Experience
The best way to get it in that I found--the farthest I got before things started to hurt was one ball mostly in--is to slather the toy in lube. I had water-based lube and it seemed to slide in pretty easy. Another factor was how you pushed the balls in. You should first manipulate the ball that's going in. Slide and push it in with your fingers and then you can try maneuvering the second ball in. Don't try pushing just on the second ball. The middle connector is flexible and you will only cause it to bend the toy at odd angles making the pushing hurt more. It took a good bit of patience and steady force to get it partially in. The only thing that kept me from pushing farther was the pain. I've recently found that inserting larger vibrators usually results in that for me, so it should work for those who can do that.
Follow-up commentary
After taking the suggestion of one of the many helpful people who commented on my review, I gave the Smart Balls a break and stuck to playing with my other toys while slowly testing and exercising myself. Goodness knows, but today was the day. I lubed up the Smart Balls and on the second try, they slipped right into my vaginal canal without any complaint from my body. I could hardly believe that there had been any issue before!

Sitting or standing still, it doesn't feel like there's anything in my vagina. So I don't feel a thing from the grooves on the Smart Balls--so I will conclude that they are likely for decoration (though it is pretty). But when I start moving it feels like a low, rumbly sensation is going on in my pelvic region. I'll relate it to the feeling of stomach rumbling--minus the discomfort and hunger related to that. I don't feel particularly aroused or turned on by the Smart Balls as other people have in their reviews, but it probably is because of how I might feel things. Everyone seems to feel sensations differently. I do feel rather sneaky and a bit naughty having these balls so snugly secreted away. So that could be a bit of a turn on.

These balls do remind you to exercise your kegels whenever possible though! There's just enough sensation to tell you 'oh! Remember there's something down there! Give a couple squeezes!'

The only issue now is that the first few times I tried walking around, the Smart Balls seemed to descend due to gravity and I had to push them up a few times. But now that I've pushed them up to a higher place, they're sitting snug in my vagina and not slipping anywhere. Even if I bend over, go up stairs, or move around.

But I'm definitely warming up to the Smart Balls a lot more than in the beginning.

They work with just one ball inserted as well, there are many ben-wah balls out there, you should keep looking

Yeah, I think they would have worked with one ball inserted, but it was very uncomfortable even with just one ball and ended up hurting if I moved it around. Plus having the other ball hanging out didn't make things very practical for regular use ^^; and I was searching for something that I could use in everyday circumstances.

I really hope I'll find a better fit though! Thank you!

Very good review! Sounds like a great product for people where the size isn't as much of an issue. Hope you find something that works for you!

Thank you on both counts! I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a product that might fit me better and I'm glad for the experience though--I now know to watch out for things that are this size!

Since large vibrators hurt you you should look for smaller balls. It is also possible to work your way over time. Get a vibe that is not so large, use it for a while, and then see if you can take a larger vibe.

I'm slowly working on the using a smaller vibe and trying to work my way and familiarize myself over time. Would you have any recommendations on smaller balls?

I have this issue with these types as well. Luna Beads system is great because you can use just one or both.

Oooh! I remember looking at Luna Beads before the Smart Balls, but I got a little intimidated by them being in a girdle. I may have to take another look though! Thanks!
