Sweet and Citrusy Mangosteen

Light and sweetly fragranced the Dona Mist Lotion is perfect for just about everyone. Not too sweet and not too woodsy it will please most wearers. It penetrates the skin and creates a nice barrier to skin drying winter or summer air. This is a great product for all over body use.

extremely useful review
The idea of lotion that I can mist on my freshly shaven legs to prevent razor burn was my reason for ordering the Dona Body Mist Lotion by System Jo. I am happy to report that it does do just that! I tried the Mangosteen fragrance and it is LOVELY. It's not so heavily fragranced that it will make the guys cringe, it doesn't smell "girly". The bottle is also not terribly feminine and wouldn't look amiss in a bathroom of a guy.

For the price you get quite a large bottle of lotion, it comes in an 8.5 fl oz clear plastic bottle with a yellow label. The label is fairly subdued but if you look it's pictures of flowers and looks like a lace doily. Far from looking like it should be in Grandma's bathroom it is pretty but not too pretty!
The plastic bottle is recyclable and has a black plastic pump type sprayer and clear plastic lid. The pump doesn't clog and sprays pretty evenly. It sprays a good amount of product with one pump and I find I can almost cover from my knee down to my foot with two sprays. I use my hands to spread the lotion out and work it into the skin but you could just spray and leave it to dry.
The mist is fairly fine but beads up on the skin, which is why I prefer to smooth it in rather than leaving it. Arch, however, prefers to just let it dry and has ordered me to get him a bottle for his super dry legs. Not his legs are rather hairy, and he's 6 foot tall so it can take three sprays to cover his lower leg.
The lotion dries fairly quickly and is very soothing to dry, irritated skin. It works wonders on my skin preventing razor rash though I do not use it on my bikini area. I use Coochy for that! Why fix what ain't broken, right?

The Lotion Mist doesn't dry sticky, is absorbed into the skin completely and leaves the skin feeling smooth and softly perfumed. The scent doesn't last for a terribly long time but in our household that can be a blessing. We all have such sensitive sinuses.
Speaking of scent the Mangosteen smells very citrus-y and sweet but really it smells like lemon pledge to me. Now, I LIKE the smell of lemon pledge so this is a good thing but for those that don't, you have been warned! What I really like is the lack of a chemical smell to the lotion and that it is so soft when it's smoothed into the skin.

The lotion is absorbed fully into the skin so it's not a good product for a massage but if you like touch your partner, (and who doesn't?) it is nice to spray and then lightly smooth the lotion in.

For those with allergy concerns I'll list the ingredients: Purified Water, Caprylic Capric Glycerides, Polyglycerol-6 Dioleate, Glyceryl Caprylate Caprate, Propanediol, Saccharide Isomerate, Passion Fruit (Passiflora Edulis) Seed Oil, Rice Bran (Oriza Sativa) Oil, Açaí (Euterpe Oleracea) pulp Oil, Babassu (Orbignya Oleifera) Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Garcinia Mangostana (Mangosteen) Fruit, Fragrance
Honestly, nothing here would give me pause, but I am fairly healthy and my skin is only mildly prone to rashes.

The lotion washes cleanly away, with soap and water, leaving no oily residue. The lotion will stain light colored fabrics, cotton and silk. I did find that it washes cleanly out of cotton bed sheets, so I'm fairly certain it would wash out of cotton clothing. Silk is a gamble as it did not come out of a silk bag it got sprayed on accidentally.

I have it under good authority that the scent is NOT mangosteen, instead the aphrodisiac oil used in the product is mangosteen. The scent is more complex that the scent of the fruit, itself.
Follow-up commentary
Arch was scratching and scratching at the skin on his legs due to Winter dry skin. Before he scratched himself raw I decided to try this lotion. Not only did it soothe his skin it also protected the scratches he had made on his legs from getting infected. It really is soothing and the smell is amazing.

Lemon-pledge?? Ugh..I was hoping it had more of a mango smell, slightly sweet, but not overpoweringly so. Great job.

I like the smell of lemon pledge too! I love the bottle I got of this but I can't figure out why they call it lotion...it is more like a spray to me. I think of lotion as being thicker than this is. Thanks for sharing and for a great review!
