If Backsides Produced Their Own Lube...

I highly recommend this lube to anyone and everyone who is either interested in anal play or just prefers thicker formulas. It's remarkably smooth and needs little to no reapplication, even on nicely-sized pieces of "equipment". Your butt might learn to talk just so it can thank you for buying this product.

Use

Sliquid Organics Gel appears to be simply an organic version of Sliquid's own Sassy Booty Formula (with which I will continue to compare it throughout this review), leading me to believe that it is also intended for anal play. It is perfectly safe for vaginal use as well, but may be uncomfortably thick for that. For anal, it works wonderfully.

There is nobody to whom I would not recommend this lube, including those sensitive of body and/or mind, as it is free of glycerin, parabens, and petrochemicals, and is hypoallergenic and 100% vegan-friendly. (The ingredients list and an explanation of components can be found in the "Personal Comments" section.)

The only time/place in which I would advise against using this product is in the shower, since it is water-based and will rinse away. Aside from that, go nuts; this lube is compatible with all toy materials and is non-staining.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Amongst lubricants, Sliquid Organics Gel does indeed count as a gel. Out of that context, I would be more inclined to call it a thick liquid. Its movement inside the bottle is something akin to that of Dawn dish soap.

My initial reaction was that this formula is somewhat thinner than the Sassy, but after handling it for a while, I realized that it is not actually thinner, but smoother in consistency. It provides the same amount of cushion, albeit in a smoother layer, and feels silky, whereas Sassy has a slightly "jellied" feel to it. It does pour and spread a bit more easily, but I would still say it stays in place well.

Taste / Aroma

It has the same light, bitter plant smell I noticed in Sliquid Sassy, which I have likened to "unscented" liquid hand soap. I consider it a pleasant scent, but, if you disagree, worry not; it dissipates quickly.

There is a bitter taste to the Organics Gel that I do not find particularly enjoyable, but I would classify it as a light flavor, and it only lasts for as long as the tongue is in direct contact with the lube. I don't think it would kill the mood if it accidentally made its way into the mouth during play, but I would advise against putting it there purposely.

Performance

If the rectum did produce a sufficient amount of natural lubricant for sex, I believe it would feel like this product. It's thick and cushiony to protect those delicate tissues, and it feels incredibly smooth, slick, and silky while doing so.

I am thoroughly impressed with how effective and long-lasting this lube is. I played for about an hour, switching toys three times, and all I needed was an initial dollop on each toy. (Technically, this belongs in the "Experience" section, but I feel the following specifics are relevant to the product's performance: I spent about 15 minutes each on the first two and half an hour on the third, which was the considerably-sized Tantus Cowboy Scout.) I hardly think this qualifies as "reapplication", as it would be unwise to shove an unlubed toy into one's ass, so, as far as I'm concerned, no reapplication was necessary.

It does have that peculiar tendency to foam a little, but performance is unaffected by this. I had a minor complaint about the Sliquid Sassy becoming stringy when it starts to dry up. Not only did I not notice this issue with the Organics Gel, I didn't even notice it drying up! Pardon my enthusiasm, but hooray!

The only cleanup required is a quick wipe-up of any excess; this lubricant absorbs into the skin without leaving a residue. For those who feel uncomfortable leaving it on, a simple rinse will do nicely if you haven't the time or energy for a proper wash. Internal flushing will never be necessary, as this product carries no risk of buildup.

Packaging

Sliquid Organics Gel comes in a sturdy, recyclable plastic bottle with a rocker/click lid. The lid is leak-free, dispenses cleanly, and is easy to operate single-handedly. Both sizes offered here on EdenFantasys are too large to be taken on a flight but should be just fine for ground travel, so long as your bag won't be getting banged around hard enough to click the cap open.

Aside from a request to recycle the packaging, the only instructions are the standard warnings not to use if the safety seal is broken, to discontinue use if irritation occurs, and to keep away from children. I consider this sufficient; if you purchased this product, chances are you know what to do with it.

While the packaging isn't "in-your-face" about its contents, I wouldn't call it particularly discreet either. The dark brown bottle with its white-and-purple label is innocuous enough, but, in my opinion, the brand name of "sliquid" printed in large, friendly letters (bonus points if you caught that reference) and the "female" symbols stamped on top of the lotuses (or loti, if you prefer) are fairly telling. From farther away, it could be passed off as a hair product or a body lotion, but if one is close enough to read it, the label does say "natural lubricating gel" in smaller print.

Special Features

Unless "organic" and "vegan" are to be considered special features, this product does not have any. It does not warm, tingle, cool, or have any other gimmicky bells and whistles. What it does, however, is an excellent job of being a safe, natural, long-lasting gel lubricant that is both comfortable and extremely effective. I believe that deserves a mention here, even if it's not "special".

Personal comments

Ingredients: Purified Water, Plant Cellulose (from Cotton), Aloe Barbadensis*, Natural Tocopherols (Vitamin E), Cyamopsis (Guar Conditioners), Extracts of Hibiscus*, Flax*, Green Tea* & Sunflower Seed*, Citric Acid (Citrus fruits), Phenoxyethanol (Rose ether)
*Certified Organic

Curiosity never actually killed anything, and a lack of it will allow the mind to stagnate. I wouldn't want you getting all swampy in the head, so I present you now with a breakdown of the ingredients list. Cotton cellulose and guar are natural thickeners. Aloe is a fantastic barrier for keeping in moisture, as most people probably know from its frequent use in treating sunburns and sore noses. Personally, I credit the aloe with making the Organics Gel formula smoother and longer-lasting than Sassy (and therefore free of that unappealing stringiness), although the sunflower seed extract may deserve some attention for that too. Vitamin E is an antioxidant, which act as natural preservatives. All of the extracts contain antioxidants as well, as does the rose ether, which is a body-safe replacement for the preservative DMDM hydantoin (a formaldehyde releaser) Sliquid has used in the past. Green tea and rose ether also have natural antimicrobial properties, which is just one more reason using this lube makes me even happier to play with my butt.

Apparently, I made a small mistake in the "Personal Comments" area of my review of Sliquid Sassy. After taking a better look at my bottle of Organics Gel and the Sliquid company page here on EdenFantasys, I see that the "female" symbol is actually part of the Sliquid company logo. While I feel far less antipathy toward the Organics Gel label than I do toward the Sassy label, I retain my opinion that the symbol is irrelevant to the product, redundant in combination with the lotus, and potentially (definitely, in my case) somewhat offensive to men and to women who aren't narcissistic about their femininity. That is all.
