Look Ma, No Drips! A Thicker, Slicker Sliquid.

So, it’s been a while since I fell in love with Sliquid Organics Natural Lubricant, and I still use it religiously. It is the most natural feeling vaginal lubricant I have ever used - not to mention that it is completely body safe and non-irritation. It took me longer to love Sliquid Organics Gel. It has the same organic ingredients as my favorite lube ever, and is just as comfortable and soothing to all my genital areas. The Gel is also way less drippy, and lasts slightly longer than the Natural Lubricant. On paper, it was the best thing ever for my vagina. Yet somehow it felt a little too thick to feel great in my vag - at least not in the same it’s-meant-to-be-there way as the original does. I felt kind of meh about it. But then I tried it in my ass. Oh, hello there. I officially adore you, you gorgeous bottle of organic love lotion.

Being Glycerin and Paraben-Free, it is one of the only lubes I trust with my kitty. Like all Sliquid products, it is formulated for safety, and doesn’t contain ingredients that cause UTI’s or yeast infections. (As someone who is prone to both, I am very grateful for this, and it’s half the reason I love Sliquid as much as I do.) It is now my absolute favorite water-based lube for anal use. (It gets along splendidly with silicone butt toys!) It can be applied thickly, and creates a nice cushiony layer that makes penetration comfortable. This is also great for vaginal use when I am using a bigger dildo. Some dildos, especially large, silicone ones, just require an amount of lube that would cause a drippy mess with the thin, liquid formulation of Sliquid Organics Natural Lubricant. However, since the Gel is thick and won’t drip. I can slather a thick coating all over my dildo and go to town - without making a mess.

The consistency of Sliquid Gel is quite thick for a water-based lube. It doesn’t pour out like a liquid. Rather, it comes out slowly in large droplets when it is squeezed. It reminds me a bit of a thinner hair gel, or a thick aloe vera gel in terms of consistency. It spreads easily, and can be applied in a thick layer. It also stays put, which makes it fantastic for applying to your toys. It won’t drip on the journey from your hands to your sexy parts. Best of all, it never gets sticky - when it dries, it seems to sink completely into the skin and be absorbed, leaving it soft and smooth. It is really lovely.

It doesn’t have a noticeable smell. However, although it doesn’t taste bad, I find it unpleasant to have in my mouth. While the ingredients are the same as the Nature Lubricant, which I don’t mind licking, the goopy, gummy texture of this gives it a strange quality when it’s in my mouth. It’s just too thick, and kind of sticks to my tongue in an uncomfortable way. Ironically, the quality that makes it great for anal play, makes it the worst for tongue play. Since I’m not one for ass-to-mouth, this doesn’t bother me. I only tried to lick it off my hand for the purposes of this review, and I won’t be doing it again. However, I wouldn’t recommend using this for any sort of combo hand & blow jobs, because licking anything covered in this isn’t pleasant (for me, at least - your mouth might not mind). It’s not so much that it tastes bad, it’s that the texture just feels weird on my tongue.

I love Sliquid Gel because it is as wonderfully non-irritating and soothing as the Natural Lubricant, but its thickness makes it perfect for applying larger quantities without drips, and makes for safe, comfortable anal play. For a water-based lube, it is fairly long lasting, but it may require reapplication with vigorous play. It lasts a good while, definitely through a 30-45 minute masturbation session, and slightly longer than the Natural Lubricant. However, if I’m going for longer than 30 minutes, I usually have to reapply, or ‘freshen’ it with water. It feels nice and slick all over again when it is remoistened. However, I usually just have a glass of water by my bed, and it’s not the sexiest to dip my fingers in and then splash water on my ladybits, so I generally just apply another dollop of lube. It absorbs leaving skin feeling soft and moisturized, and never feels sticky. Since there can never be too much lube with anal, I don’t worry about using a bit extra. Don’t worry about getting it on the sheets either - it doesn’t stain.
One of my favorite things about Sliquid is that I never have to wash it off after use. It absorbs leaving skin feeling soft and moisturized, and never feels sticky. As such, I have never had to use soap and water to remove it. If there is excess I just wipe it off, the rest just sinks in beautifully. If you don’t want the moisturized skin it leaves, you’ve got a ton of excess, or if you’re just uncomfortable with leaving lube on your skin, it will rinse away easily with water.

The packaging is pretty and subtle, at least as far as lubricant bottles go. The bottle is kind of a dark amber color, but still slightly transparent. In order to check the amount of lube remaining, I just hold it up to a light and I can clearly tell. The label is also classy, with dark purple writing and icons. It definitely doesn't proclaim ANAL LUBE to anyone who might glance at it, so I feel pretty comfortable just leaving it on my nightstand. No one gives it a second look between my water bottle, lotion, and various other things I leave on my bedside table. However, if someone were to read the package, they would obviously know what it is, so I usually stick it in a drawer if I’m expecting guests. It also has a convenient snap open top, which seals well for travel. I have never experienced any leakage, but to be on the safe side you might want to seal it in a plastic bag. The pop top is also easy to open with one hand, so it can be quickly opened and closed even with lubed up fingers. The back of the bottle has some more information about the product, as well as a listing of the natural, organic, vegan ingredients. Also - it is 100% recyclable, so it is super environmentally friendly.

Sliquid is infused with organic botanicals, safe to use with all materials, and is Ph balanced (neutral). On the package it says that that it is “Created by sensitive women, for sensible women.” It definitely is a female-body-friendly lube, and the icon is a lotus flower with the female symbol on it, so it is geared toward women, but the lube itself would work well for anyone. The packaging is 100% recyclable, and is also made in the USA. It’s also free of glycerine, parabens, propylene glycol & glycerol, and contains no sugars or artificial sweeteners, which means won’t cause UTIs or yeast infections. The ingredients are all-natural and many are certified organic*.

Sliquid Organics Natural Lubricating Gel contains:

Plant Cellulose (from Cotton): Naturally occurring, it creates the body and thickness of the lubricant. Since the ingredients in the Gel and Natural Lubricant are identical, I think there is more Plant Cellulose in the Gel, which increases the viscosity and thickness.

Aloe Barbadensis*: An extract from the Aloe Vera plant, it is healing, moisturizing, and soothing.

Natural Tocopherols (Vitamin E): A natural antioxidant, Vitamin E is healing, soothing, and generally good for the skin. Cyamopsis (Guar Conditioners): a non-toxic natural additive that enables the plant ellulose fiber to move, and feel wonderfully slick and slippery.

Extracts of Hibiscus, Flax, Green Tea & Sunflower Seed*:
Hibiscus is a cooling herb that is soothing and silky. Flax is a moisturizing and conditioning extract that contains omega-3 fatty acids, which calm and protect the skin. Sliquid states that it is restorative and healing, and helps restore the skin’s elasticity. Green tea contains carotenoids, tocopherols, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), and many different minerals. It also has antioxidant effects,and is an anti-inflammatory agent. Sunflower seed extract helps create a slippery feel, as is used as a cleansing and calming tonic. Citric Acid is a natural antiseptic and preservative. It is combined with a small amount of Potassium Sorbate, a natural preservative that is also an anti fungal. Phenoxyethanol (Rose ether) is a preservative.
