If you ask several people what makes them feel sexy, I’m sure you will get a variety of responses. For some women it is slipping into something sexy like lingerie, or a bra and panty set. Others may say it has to do with relaxing massages, bubble baths, lotions, and beauty regimens.
If you ask my husband what he finds sexy about me the most, he’d respond the way I smell after grilling outside on the charcoal grill. He loves the way the smoke lingers in my hair, and I smell like steak. I don’t know what he finds appealing about this, but he always comments with a “Mmmm, you smell like steak.”
None of that is what makes me feel sexy. Yes, I love sexy lingerie, and relaxing, but that’s not what makes me feel at my sexiest. The number one thing that makes me feel the sexiest is when I am with my friends having a good time.
Usually when I am with my friends I don’t have a care in the world, and we’re just enjoying being together and are free to be ourselves. I grew up in a small town in the country and it’s the simple things in life such as my friends and family that make me feel my best. I know they are there for me whenever I need them regardless of the reason or time.
Another thing that I find sexy is being comfortable in my jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers in the Winter and tank-tops, shorts, and flip-flops in the Spring. I love the feeling of being carefree and not having to worry about what to wear and I find that very sexy.
I have not ever been a girly girl who spends hours of time on her hair and makeup, ensuring that it is just perfect before she walk out of the house for the day. I’m just not that girl. I prefer my straight long hair in ponytails and my face natural with no makeup on it. I prefer my jeans and shorts over dresses and hose any day, and I find this all very sexy. I know I do not have to please anyone but myself and I like being my unique self.
Now, when it comes to lingerie and sexy bra and panties, I only wear these for my husband in the bedroom. I do not feel that I have to do this on an everyday basis and do not feel that sexy lingerie makes me any sexier.
As far as bath and beauty rituals, I’m a mother of two boys and just don’t have time to spend on things like that. I’m lucky to have any hot water left after my husband and two boys have had their baths and showers for the day. I’m lucky if I can get a shower completed without someone coming in the bathroom before I finish. The only time I’m able to enjoy a bubble bath is on Mother’s Day when my husband watches the boys and allows me to have that time alone. I do enjoy scented bath and body lotions, body washes, and perfumes, but that is the closest I get to any beauty routine and the only thing I consider girly out of my life.
I also find confidence sexy, but this is something I struggle with on a daily basis. I know that I do not have to please anyone but myself, but I sometimes lack the self-confidence, and I know that can be hindering.
My best friend always gets irritated when I say something negative about myself and is always quick to remind me that I am beautiful in their eyes and I’m the only one that sees the imperfection. I believe that is one of the reasons I consider my friends to be what makes me sexy, because I know I can count on them for my self -conscious days to straighten my attitude right up.
Whatever it is that makes you feel sexy is great. If you feel confident about yourself, others will see that shine through, and see you for the unique person you are.
I also find personality to be sexy. I do not like those that are constantly cranky, have a chip on their shoulder, or have a pessimistic attitude. We all go through trials and tribulations at time, but it is best to stay positive about the things that are going on in ones life because eventually it will get better. I find those that are happy, optimistic, and smiling to be very sexy.
