There's a Reason Everyone Loves This

As much as the Coochy aftershave powder disappointed me, the protection spray impressed me. It has a better applicator and smell and it just works. In fact, I would go so far as to say I've never used an aftershave product that works quite so well and I hope that Classic Erotica always makes this product. I am truly hooked!

useful review
I recently wrote a pretty negative review about Coochy's aftershave powder. After all, it didn't smell good, nor did it protect my sensitive skin from irritation and pain. With that said, I was hoping against hope that the spray would work better for me. While I used both of these products, I compared them to another product that I have used for several years to reduce chafing and the redness and discomfort that can come from it. I was looking for a product that would be easy to use and help me be comfortable right after shaving, even if I should engage in physical activity and sweat it up.

This does.

Immediately, I liked this better than the powder. The spray bottle, which is labeled at working from 360 degrees is super convenient. It's much easier to get a larger coverage area than with the powder poof. The smell is almost more pleasant. The "botanical" is a clean, herbal smell that is light and not clinical at all. It simply seems fresh and clean. If you're not a fan, it fades quickly. I couldn't smell it after getting dessed.

The mist itself is pretty fine so it dries pretty quickly, but I sprayed quite a lot on. Of course, if you're impatient and spray a lot like like me, it'll be a little sticky under your clothes, but it dries quickly enough. It doesn't seem like dressing over the wet mist impedes its function at all. Yay for that. The mist might make my skin a little softer but it's negligible. I'd still use a lotion if that were your goal. After it dried, I couldn't even tell I had sprayed something on my skin.

So the real test, for me, has two factors. The mist had to keep me pain-free and prevent my skin from becoming inflamed and otherwise irritated. I wore this under jeans and shorts -- which tend to cause my more discomfort after a fresh shave -- and felt no discomfort at all, even as I walked about town. Not only that, but my inner thighs showed only the faintest touch of red from chafing. There were no bumps or swelling, though.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well this product worked, so I really put it to the test, and it passed with flying colors. I was surprised at how soothing and protecting it was, without creating a visible barrier or one that I could even feel, really. With only one application (well, several spritzes) at the beginning of my day, my thighs felt great through all my activities. I did spray once more before I went to bed, but it really wasn't necessary. It does run high, at almost $10, but that's not much more than I was paying for my previous product. I think that the fine mist will last quite a while, so it's a good value over time.

Although the bottle is kind of short, it's still a little big for my purse. I think a travel size would be a fantastic option! The label, by the way, features "Coochy" in obvious writing, so it's not super discreet. However, the metallic pink is classy. I like it. However, the older version is less stylish and features some sickly pink label. They're the same product, as far as I know, regardless of package. The pump also comes with a cover so if you did travel with it, it would be secure.

This spray could probably be used for other chafe-y areas, especially during the summer time. I bet athletes could get great use out of it. I am especially interested to see how well I like it when the temperature rises and I sweat more, but that will have to wait.

As a side note, some people have mentioned that this contains glycine.. next to their praise that it works. In my opinion, this is an unnecessary footnote if you have good experience with the product, which almost everyone does. Unless glycerine sends you to the ER, you're probably going to be safe when using this as it's only meant to be used externally anyway.
Follow-up commentary
It feels like I haven't had this product for very long, and the bottle's almost gone. Of course, this is a testament to how sensitive my inner thighs become after shaving. I've had to spray multiple times after a fresh shave to avoid irritation or bumps. Sadly, the 360-degree spray isn't quite so accurate as the bottle becomes empty. I have a difficult time getting it to spray, lately. Still, I'd consider buying it again, especially if I found it on sale.

I love the shave cream! My fiance ordered me some more cream but was sent this instead by mistake but we are keeping it. I haven't used it yet but it sounds like good stuff! Thanks for sharing.

I find that shave cream doesn't make as big a difference for me than using a product AFTER shaving. I am using a shaving cream by the same company but it's only because I love the scent (pink cupcake!) I've had good experiences alike with that, Coochy and a handful of other brands.
